Bringing back limited items; Yay or Nay

Definitely! I always see items I like in friends towns that I missed.

Nay, because it was limited time for a reason; I realise that people may have not played at the time but it kinda ruins the experience for those who have those limited items and then see everyone else have those items too

Yes tbh I don't care if other players have the same stuff I have and there's stuff I really want to. It's not like tapped out is made to be a very competitive game, most players probably dont interact with others at all.

But I do think what was premium before should be premium always (like Homer's mr plow skin that was free this year but not last year!)

I just am curious on the general consensus. I'll chime in once it gets going a little. Also reasons would be helpful for everyone :D

I'm for this. Although I think this would have been much better as a poll.

I think the limited time items should be given a "second chance" limited time for those who were not able to play as the game was not available on android for the 6-8 months or whatever length of time it was.

I understand those who want to be special, but it would me more fair for people who didn't even get the first opportunity to have one last chance. After the second time, I agree it should be done.

EA would make a killing. Hear that, EA? Gil could have a yard sale for all items and everyone has a last chance to get what they need. Spring is coming up. Good time for a spring cleaning yard sale.

Would be good for the people who missed them as long as they give something new to the person who already have them.

    1. Re-release the Cool Brown House & release Terrence as a playable character
    2. Re-release the Mapple Store & release Steve Mobbs as a playable character

    And so forth

Yes, a Gil yard sale would be great.

I would even be willing to spin some ridiculous wheel thingy (like Krusty's Holiday WheeL) on a regular basis for donuts if some of the prizes were a rotation of past limited time items.

Yeah, as a kindle player, I didn't have a chance to get quite a few things. I searched for the app before. I would have played sooner. But it wasn't available to me. I think it's lame to punish players who literally could not download the game due to the device they could, you know, afford. :(

*edit* Hey, I think that might've been my 1000th post. (Wow, I'm here too much.)

Many great points were brought up. I wouldn't mind if for two things.

First, once premium always premium. A lowered price would even be fine but is unfair the way mr.plow worked out in my opinion. Maybe a few exceptions wouldn't hurt like free funzo, or getting santas little helper for a big prize during an event. Limited items that were donut only shouldn't be free though, IMO.

Second, if you are going to do this, don't hold back except for on a few select things. The stores and zombies would be cool for donuts, even if they never brought back Kang and kodo. Maudes ghost is so high on my want list. And things like mapple, which had no warning of being limited. I got the donuts to notice it was gone.

I think it is unfair that Android and Kindle players missed out on some limited time items and shoild bring them back for a "Missing Item Yard Sale"

Yes and frankly I dont give a poo-poo if players have had them all along are suddenly upset that everyone else has them. You're entitled to be a special snowflake or something? No man, give everyone a chance.

Totally. I think that would be totally fair. Plus, EA would rake in a buttload of money. I would go buy another boatload of donuts if they would do some sort of missing item yard sale event. I'm sure I'm not the only one....

I never understood people that get mad just because they don't want other people to get something that they already have...it doesn't hurt me in any way, shape, or form just because you get an item that i have. I wish everyone could have access to everything. It's just a game...it's supposed to be fun, and it would be fun to me to be able to decorate my town with all those items I never was given the opportunity to get.

I would think that ea would do it to generate money. I'm sure that everyone, except for completionists, have seen seen items in a neighbors town that they missed out on.

bringing limited items back in limited runs is definitely the way to go. this business tenet is known as the McRib Principle.

    =)

but honestly, offering new future players the ability to experience the same level of satisfaction is what Also extends the game lifetime, which means more levels or expansions.

the idea of getting sattisfaction from having that which your chosen neighbor does not, is kinda sociopathic, no?
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
