If your friends have only 1 or 2 decorated houses ready to collect, you can leave their town and come back. The Simpson's House will regenerate another Christmas Coin!
if you click on a friend's decorated Simpson house, then wait 45 seconds for the coin to regenerate and click again, does that show up twice when the friend logs back in again (as in 2 handshakes over the house) or do they only receive one?
I think the Mapple store was prompted by Flanders...he and Rev Lovejoy have a chat about worshipping false idols lol. I can't remember if anything was involved after their chat or not, I hope this helps.
Update: Okay, you will be prompted to send Lisa, Flanders and Homer to shop at Mapple store after it is built, it may take a bit so be patient. Once they are all done shopping you will be prompted to build Bowlarama by Homer, it is 200 coins. ( this just happened in my town a few minutes ago, thought I would pass on ASAP) Good luck!!!
FYI - the "multiple treats" trick does not work for coins and the XMAS tree. If you click on a friend's XMAS tree, leave the city and come back, there WILL NOT be a 2nd/3rd coin to be had...I don't know if the trick works on houses, though...I've yet to come across any yet
Tip to avoid accidentally resetting decorated house - Tap a decorated building then the menu will pop up and there should be a little minus sign in the right corner. Tap that sign and then it hides the normal version of the building so you can't tap it by accident. If you want to get it back the minus sign will have turned into a plus so just tap that.

Great tip, thanks!
Unfortunately this doesn't last long - I have to click on the minus sign every time I enter in my city. But at least it works, saving my precious coins 8)
700+ blue home should make it easy to get the coins
There's debate about this in the General discussion section. It's not sure that you'll earn 5 coins per house. Probably you'll earn 5 coin per type of house
I can confirm you only earn 5 coins PER TYPE. Not per house. I have 40 Brown Houses (built a farm anticipating this trick) and found that I only got 5 coins. If you tap any of them, you'll note that they all run off the same timer no matter WHEN you build them.
Also, when visiting other towns...the coins available are based on the house's natural refresh cycle. So if somebody else has tapped that house, or the owner has recently tapped it, it will not be available for you to tap. This is why the Simpsons house, Flanders', and the Brown House are the best targets for decorations as they have the fastest refresh rate.
So if a town doesn't have anything available. Wait at least 45 seconds to see if the Simpsons house recharges and tap that. It will be recharged again in 45 seconds provided somebody else visiting doesn't also tap it. (Though I'm not sure how that works given a visited building refreshes faster).
TLDR:
1) You only get 5 coins for each TYPE of building you decorate, regardless of how many you bought.
2) Your friends coins recharge whenever the house itself recharges. (Ex: Your friends Simpsons house gives out 1 coin every 45 seconds)
3) If you have a farm, don't tear it down just yet. Decorate it so that there's some spare houses for any friends that may visit. This works best with Brown Houses.
I haven't decorated Cletus' yet, but do you have to have a crop ready to harvest at the same time the Santa coin timer is ready or do you just get a coin once everyday regardless.

I have Marge doing the treats right now and I believe it is a 16 hour task.
Does a friend's christmas tree also only gives you 1 coin?
Like for the Mapple store, Bowlarama and TrynSave?
I've had the light quests, but not these. If so what are the quests?

No only one got it
