If the farming life isn't for you, then one hour tasks as often as you're able.

Buy a bunch of brown houses. I used to have over 100 of them and became rich fast

Thanks guys! I guess the one hour task will work well if I am not busy on that day lol

I will do the whole brown house thing too, but I want it to look nice and not just make it look like a huge mess lol, so more land expansion is needed!

Actually, the ones that are shorter than an hour pay A LOT better. A 10 minute task (or Lard Lad 5 minute) pays $15... So you can easily earn $90-$180 per character per hour doing those repeatedly while you're logged on and playing.

Shorter tasks, frequently repeated, plus visiting lots of friends every day is the best way to earn as much cash and XP as possible in the shortest amount of time. No farming needed.

The best way is to guess how long it'll be before you play again. No point in doing a 1 hour task if you'll be away for 8 because make about 420ish instead of 70. The shorter ones do pay more per hour though, so for example you'd get $560 for 8 one hour tasks instead of $420ish for 1 eight hour task.

Now that the visiting friends scheme has been revised, that seems to be an insanely fast money maker. As Nine9Nines pointed out:

You can really roll in the dough if you can visit a bunch of neighbors in a row without crashing. I'm not sure how many in a row I've been to, but I'm getting over $110 for each building I tap on currently. iPad4, FTW!

The award per building starts at the usual $17 per building (I think), then keeps growing as you visit more friends in a single run. You need to stay in the neighborhood area without going back to your own Springfield, crashing, or exiting the game.

I received $180 per building on my 100th friend tonight.

Wow. I didn't know that spiff. I haven't reached 100 friends so my earnings definitely won't get to $180. It's good to know though. There's so much more incentive now to visit friends with the Santa coins - even more so if you include that. I had no idea it was like that

Mitsuhoney - Iif you are going to buy more houses to accumulate money personally I wouldn't go with heaps of brown house. Youre not going to be on there every three minutes collecting from them so they will go to waste when you're away for an extended amount of time. Go for the pink or purple house, they have good times/payouts for someone who's not going to be on there 24/7 and they're still cheapish

As now I have 3 brown, 6 white, 3 orange, 3 blue, 3 pink and 4 purple. When I get more land, I plan to continue to buy more houses but spread them out evenly so its not "farm" looking, I dont really want to go with browns so much as I know that I wont be going on the game every 5 mins or so, so I think maybe if I have an open day where I could go on more I will do one hour task for them and when I am busy on other days I will do more longer jobs, dont know why I never thought about this before lol, I am just bad at math and pay no attention to it at all lol

Wow thanks for that info! I wish I'd seen it before visiting like 60 of my 70 friends in short bursts between sending characters on ten minute missions. Ah well, tomorrows a new day.
