With the improvements to the game the Christmas update gave us the game does go from strength to strength.

If the quite ones could be voiced it would bring a further improvement and add to the overall game experience.

Surely EA could have raided the archives from the platform games they produced or even approach Fox for something directly from the programme if they couldn't get the voice actors to provide something for the game?

Just a thought, why doesn't Millhouse, Martin, fat Tony and Mrs Krabappel talk !!!!!

The main characters are contracted to supply voices whereas guest stars are not and the only way EA coud do it is via people buying donuts, which everyone complains about.

I'd love to get a definitive answer on this; is it impossible to use these voices, because of contracts, or is it just that it would cost EA more money? From my understanding, all the voices in the game come straight from the series - so even Troy McClure could technically be voiced.

If it's just a money issue, I would gladly pay donuts to have some of these silent characters voiced. The voices are the icing on the cake, for me. Dr. Nick is my new favorite.

The definitive answer is that only the main cast of actors are contracted to have their voices used in the game. All the silent characters are voiced by guest stars that would cost EA money in fees and royalties that I guess they are not able or care to pay. Will they be voiced in future? Who knows, but if it means paying tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars just so Milhouse can speak in an already wildly successful game, I'd guess probably not.

Lloyd68, sorry buddy I smell a large pile of b/s.

The game was fully developed with characters and released before any donuts were purchased so to blame players who haven't bought donuts is nonsense. The game as we are continually reminded is a free game if you want it to be so if nobody gets donuts what happens then?

I am certain that EA could find a fix for this issue and as for donuts, I still think they are overpriced and if they were less expensive even more players would buy them so EA would still make shed loads of cash from the game, I'd go so far to say even more than they are making with the current price structure.

It's not b/s it's common business, it's a freemium game not a free game, it's not plastered with pop up adds, so the only way EA make any money is via donuts, and further to that the only way that they would pay royalties for extra character voices.

Lloyd68, sorry you've still missed the point.

It is not a freemium game, it is a free game and we are continually reminded of this fact.

You are under no obligation to buy donuts whatsoever, although I will concede that buying donuts might enhance the overall gaming experience.

IMO this game would not have been half the game it is without the likes of Milhouse and Krabappel for example and knowing that they were going to be in game EA should have taken the appropriate steps before the game was developed and released.

Sorry, but I guess I'm missing it as well. It isn't a freemium game? Really?

I'm sure they have very talented and expensive economists and analysts working out exactly what pricing structure would be most effective and beneficial for them and most likely ended up with the one we have, which seems to be working out well for them so far.

The fix for the issue is to pay royalty fees for the guest stars that voice the currently silent characters, which they obviously feel is a poor allocation of the game's resources or they would do it. Personally, if it means we get mega updates like the Christmas one instead of Martin being able to speak when you touch him that's a compromise I don't mind making (though I'd obviously love to hear every character talk if it's possible).

Sorry Jules, not wanting to get into a debate, but the game is free to play, and you can by premium items to enhance your play, hence a freemium game.

So far the only voiced characters in the game are voiced by the main cast.
martin, millhouse ,krabapple , fat tony and hank scorpio are voiced by ppl who only do one or two voices so getting them contracted for the game would be expensive for a few chrs.
tho we are likely to see these chrs voiced if them come in:

    lenny and carl
superninteno chalmerts ( i had to XD)
    captain mccallister
    kirk van outen
    dredrick tetum
    smithers
    jasper
    wolfecastle
    herman
    judge snyder
    patty and salma
    ralph wiggam
    gil
    itchy and scratchy

any other chr is unlikely to be voiced.
tho everytime i send martin on a mission in my head he always says "Excelsior"

Every time I tap a silent character I have a little phrase they say in my head.

I really hope EA does whatever it takes to get these characters with guest voices the ability to speak.

Just got myself confused, isn't that difficulty though!

Yes, you are correct it is a freemium game, I was only trying to point that the game can be played as a totally free game if you want to and as such there is no income for EA from the players that choose to do so and if no one had bought donuts EA wouldn't have made any money from the game, although that of course was never likely to happen.

Don't want to upset or cause offence to any of the forum members with my comments as the forum is a great place and it enhances the whole TSTO experience.

They need to pay the sctors and get their voices in the game, especially millhouse's since he's in a lot of the games storyline.

Same. Voices or no voices we would still play so EA would not waste thousands of dollars.

Most definitely play it with the sound switched off. I find the very small collection of sayings each character has to be profoundly irritating after the first couple of listens. I want more silent characters not more voiced characters.

To add to the debate, it's a freemium game not a free game. It just is.
