Send your characters on tasks that fit when you will be playing also take a break from the quest line and focus on building up your bank

I agree with maxx, Take you time. I rushed to the end and it gets boring fast. Just go at the normal pace and enjoy

I agree with the others. At weekends when I have absolutely nothing to do, I put everyone available on 1 hour tasks, except Shauna. I have 56 characters I think. 5 are premium unless Homer is free, so I put him to plow Homer. If every character is available and I go on every hour for 12 hours I get
-with Homer (plow) $49,560 (might not be accurate as I counted Shauna as a 1 hour tasks instead of 2 half hour ones)
    - Homer (normally) $49,140 (same as above in brackets as well)
Plus more with buildings and multipliers!

With me it all depends on what i'm doing really, if i know i'm going to be busy, usually i set certain time tasks for everyone, for example, say, between 9pm and midnight i might set everyone on either 8 or 12 hour tasks), if i'm not busy i usually go 4-6hr tasks. Keeps the cash and XP ticking over as i play along. House farming is probably the best way when starting out, and as your springfield grows you can just store them in your inventory as you go along. Patience and persistence is the key, enjoy the game, keep your tasks ticking over, try to do as many tasks in a day rather than just just a couple of 12hr or a 24hr task - surprisingly, you do earn more that way

There is no defined way to make money other than house farming, I set people's tasks to my life, so if i'm busy for like a whole day then i'll run everyone on a 24 hour task it all depends on how busy you are and how often you can update everything.

I never house farmed and I have over 50,000,000 in game dollars. Used to keep my charecters on one hour tasks at all times. Eventually you end up with a big multiplier if you spend donuts, next thing you know you don't care about the cash anymore but I remember how frustrating it was back in the beginning as a I have a few feeder towns and they are all poor.

man, with all that cash, the game might loose the fun, you dont even need to put characters on tasks anymore, I am fine with my 2 000 000, I dont need more than that for normal buildings/decorations.
