Oh, and characters not walking through fences, etc to get to places. It would make you have to structure your streets properly and make it easier to track walkers down.
Its definitely annoying how they even walk through buildings to get where they need to.
I'd like to see a add/remove feature so when you need multiple items you can get them all at once. Also they should add a hide button in the inventory so instead of hiding objects behind buildings you can hide the items you can't sell in your inventory freeing up some spots of land
Definitely lamp posts on sidewalks. As my town is pretty well lit, I would love to not have to have fences and hedges end one square short of a corner.
Another subtle change I would like to see would the 360 degree rotation of benches and Stop Signs. I don't use stop signs because the look weird when they only face 2 directions. It can't be that much code writing to make a back for a stop sign. Street Lights would be a nice touch as well. Just he old time ones that are on a post on a street corner would do.
Something that I wish EA would fix is how when multiple characters share a building or decoration for a task that they overlap.
Snake robbing the Kwik-E-Mart & the Yes Man on security or Apu's support local sports team task.
Snake robbing the Krusty Burger & Krusty's promotion or Moleman's Security task.
Yes man & the SVT at the Gilded Truffle.
etc.
etc.
They all just stand on top of each other & it looks terrible. It's a shame too because many of them would make great combinations.
The same goes with benches & fishing holes. I suppose it makes sense if your town only has one of said decoration but I wish they would automatically go to a vacant space if available.
Other little details like how some characters don't actually sit on the bench but just off to the side could use a touch up.
Something else that could use a simple tweak is how Luann's Jacuzzi Suit task is really awkwardly placed & the remote control car animation goes right through her. I could've sworn this was actually fixed a few updates ago & her task was moved more to the side of the house but now it's back in its original awkward place. Or did I just imagine that?
And let us not forget the tired old chestnut of being able to rotate parking spaces 360 degrees.
Admittedly, I'm not the slightest bit knowledgable of the programming it would require to make these adjustments so who am I to speculate how easy it would actually be to implement.
they don't go there in the real world why would they put them there in the game
You live in a funny town. Or you just don't consider curbs as part of the sidewalk?
stop signs are away from the road and not on the sidewalk
Lol. Ok.
Wherever you live it must be hell walking on a sidewalk and having to dodge stop signs.
i don't remember having to dodge stop signs as i walk on a sidewalk. there are off the sidewalk and usually on the grass or pavement past the sidewalk.
I would like a few things to be scaled more appropriately. The cars are way to large for the parking spaces, all the trees are the same height, things are just out of proportion in a few ways.......
When I visit a friend I would like that friend to go to the end of the list, so that the first friend on the list is the person I visited least recently.

It's possible we're both right, but where I drive around, stop signs are right on the side of the road, which would mean on a sidewalk whenever there is one. Sometimes we see grass in between the road and sidewalk, in which case it would be put on the grass between the road and sidewalk. Placing the stop sign further away from the road will lead to less visibility and people will be more likely to miss it. Maybe you have better, more respectful drivers where you're from so they would know to stop regardless. The general rule of thumb for stop sign placement is "[t]he STOP sign shall be located as close as practical to the intersection it regulates, while optimizing its visibility to the road user it is intended to regulate," but I digress.
Sidewalks are full of signs, benches, fire hydrants, posts, and other obstacles. We just walk around them-- no big deal. I've never even thought twice about it. The stop sign would be no more obtrusive to a pedestrian than a parking meter and gives older people something to hold onto for a second. Here's a somewhat typical stop sign around Los Angeles, close to Dodger Stadium on the famous Sunset Boulevard.
Are you sure that's a stop sign, looks more like a sticker board
That kind of thing would be dealt with in UK. I believe it's a criminal offence to alter a road sign in that manner, of course the local council would have replaced the sign before it got that bad as they can held responsible for any accident caused by illegible signs. goes to show how different people have different priorities.

We also need the ability to cancel the task of a character after the said character has started it. (So we won't have to store buildings etc).
Also some of my characters have taken to walking on the ocean when trying to get from SP back into SF.
