Actually, like Valentines, it's trying to balance those with low active friends with those with high active friends. Are you really turning down the extra friend points just because you only get one?

Exactly. Not everyone has 100 friends, and it's not fair to them to get lower points at the start and then build up.

Personally, I visit all of my friends, whether I get 10 points or 1 per tap, because visiting them encourages them to visit me, thereby getting me more points :)

How is that not fair? If I have 100 friends and am going through their towns, I'm investing more time than someone with 10 or 20. Also, I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not memorizing the people who visit my town and actively finding theirs to return the favor.

I agree. I just click my friends towns and don't keep track of how many FP they give me. What I do know is that I am getting visited a lot more frequently than I used to when an event isn't happening. I believe that is the purpose of their creation. And it is working. =)

I somewhat agree that getting less points the more actions you do in Friends' towns is kinda ridiculous.. I DO try and go thru all 100 of my friends, which seems to take forever sometimes.. What is even worse is when you spend all this time going thru Friends' towns and a lot of people have absolutely NOTHING to tap on..! Kinda frustrating but it is what it is.. The main thing that I'm upset about with this new "Friend Point" system is that we can't stack tiles, weather reports and crops anymore.. THIS IS BOGUS!!! C'mon Tapped Out!! Tiles get WAYYYY TOO EXPENSIVE and take forever to get.. Think I have only actually had to pay for like 5 tiles (luckily I was able to "stack" a bunch of tiles before it stopped) and already cost $5000 and takes 24 hours..! ****?! I also think you should get "Friend Points" when you tap the handshakes in your own town! All of them.. not just when you clean up the graffiti..

Have not been on forum in awhile. ( tired of spoilers telling me what is coming up next and whiners )
Anywayyyyy... I wondered if the stacking had been removed. Darnit!! So no sense in growing corn anymore either although I found I made a ton of money over the Valentine's Day event. Usually I leave some buildings for friends to tap, but they were tapping people.

I hate and have noticed that when friends visit me I either get one point or no points at all. I dont understand how that is even possible. 1 pts is pathetic enough but all of the handshakes I get in my town dont even equate to fp as some dont add to the score. I cant even care enough to visit all my friends.

You don't get points for handshakes your friends give you. ONLY GRAFFITI! So you can only get more of these friend points by doing the visiting you don't care to do. How is it even possible? Probably coding, normally how games are made. It seems the incentive failed on you because you don't understand. If you want points from your neighbours you'll need to clear those public buildings more frequently. I'm not trying to be a jerk here. This is just how it is to my knowledge.

Outside of events, I honestly don't see the whole point of visiting neighbors. Prior to the update, you received 34xp per neighbor. Now you receive 31xp plus 3FP. Either way, you only get the xp from visiting others, not from other people visiting you. And with the update, they have removed the timer reset, so we don't even have that benefit now. So, even before the update, with 100 friends, that was 3400xp. That's helpful if your are at a low level, but many of us are sitting at level 38. Most of us probably have plenty of unspent cash sitting around, so XP is the only interest, so we can get free donuts. But on my iphone, it takes more than an hour to go through just the 75 friends that I have. There are so many people who have nothing to tap on. And, as the OP mentioned, there is diminishing return the more people you visit, and thereby the more time spent doing so.

I can get 4000 xp in 10 secs by buying weather stations.

Before the update my only reason to visit was to get tiles/Channel 6. Now it's just a colossal waste time.

I wish EA would spend their resources addressing other issues and requests that have been brought up in countless other posts, instead of coming up with this kinda of thing. (Or at least, in addition)

    Thus endeth my rant.

When I have clicked on some handshakes I have received I have seen with my own eyes my fp increase. It increases by 1. It isn't with every handshake so can you explain what I am seeing? If not then shut up.

I visit all my neighbors regardless of how many points there are.....it all comes out in the wash. I guess I'm just a social butterfly.
Bottom line......they're trying to get people more motivated. I have no problem with that. If this isn't getting you more neighborly, then so be it. Some people never get enough, no matter how much they're given.

Yes, you will receive 1 FP if someone sprays graffiti in your town, but not from handshakes.

And no, I will not shut up. Man o man, this forum is filled with too many Comic Book Guys.

It seems like anything EA tries to add to the game, people are not satisfied. They created an event that gives you prizes for visiting friends. Maybe they implemented the fps the way they did so people don't get everything to fast. They could have made it 1 fp, per building per town. It just seems like people want things to be easy, and then complain their too easy. I don't mind the effort, if the prizes are worth the trouble. I like this new system. I hope they continue to add more prizes.

+1,000. Many people would have spent a lot of donuts to get SB II, Homer's car and especially Stampy, and we get them all for free simply by visiting neighbours.

If that's not a bargain, I don't know what is.

Valid points all around but this game is all about personal choices.
    You can:
-spend money or play for nothing
-task your characters or let them roam free
-make your town all neat and tidy or pile it all in a corner next to a house farm
-play everyday or not at all
    -have no friends or 100
    -visit all or none
it's all up to each individual.

Personally, I think the system is great. There is a set number of points you can collect every 24hrs when you visit friends, and you are not dependent on friends visiting you to reach the limit.

The FP Prizes are just another twist and EA's rules of the game are simple.
If you want the maximum points allotted, get 100 friends and visit them everyday. If you don't want to do that but still want the prizes, buy donuts and get them that way. They aren't the least bit concerned about how people play and what they think the rules should be.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not singing praises to EA, but simply trying to offer up another way to look at things.

I would like to thank EA for the free gift of the Singing Sirloin, but I am in need of a "couple" plots of land to put it on.

Friend point system sucks it has been made worthless to visit all your friends because FP goes down to 1 per handshake. I usually stop after 4 fp leaving over half neighbors neglected. Also the people who haven't updated you can't do anything with so you gotta waste time going into towns just to leave empty handed.

I like the Friend Point system. I try to visit my friends daily as it is, and this just gives me a little something for my trouble. I'm 10 FP away from getting the Singing Sirloin already, and I'm really happy with that. It's no fun getting things too quickly in my opinion, but if I wanted to, I could have just stumped up real life cash to pay with donuts.

when you stop your only hurting yourself and making the prizes drag out longer. but again you should not be compelled to keep going if you don't want to. Everything takes work to get something why should video games be any different.

I agree! Don't look at your counter as you go---wait until the end and then maybe you'll look at it and say it was worth the extra effort

I wouldn't be surprised if they change the point system down the road. It really should be evened out more.
