i never lost any star by people vandalising my town, but i do lose stars if i vandalise other towns.... catch Sideshow Bob as often as you can in the Other Springfield (can be done even if your three daily taps have been cleared) and cleaning your own vandalised buildings asap, plus catching Sideshow Bob innyour own town - as rightenous goes down he will appear more often in your oen town.

build 5 or 6 training walls (whatever it takes to get it to 5 stars) and hide them behind buildings.. it will never fall again.

they actually fit behind most buildings perfectly so you'll never see them

My rating used to drop every time I leveled up, and sometimes just randomly. I remember waiting and waiting to get tagged so I could clean it and get the rating back up. (Probably less of a problem now that most people are going for spray cans; clean a bit of graffiti and it'll go right back up.)
Then I unlocked the training wall, surrounded Fat Tony's compound with them, and never had a problem again.
