In fact, this just happened to the guy at tstotopix.me. Had to have his town restored after it got trashed. There is no excuse for this type of problem going on for this long. Since I assume that the vast majority of people would not vandalize, the misdirected log-ins are probably much more frequent than most imagine.
Just another message to hope that EA has spotted the forum post mentioned in the OP's post. That thread is growing and growing, both with people who have found they are in the wrong town, and with victims.
Please EA whatever patch you performed to correct the problem (as per your sticky at the top of this forum) either did not work properly, or has stopped working after an update.
Please, please, please try again to fix it, or give us some kind of update that you know there is a problem and you are working on it
I've accessed a unknown Springfield myself yesterday, and I saw that some buildings were ready and quests were finished. After a game restart, I'm able to access my own land.
This problem is horrible and anyone would access mine someday.
YOU MUST FIX THIS!! EA!!
They don't care they got our money some one else has my Springfield and I can no longer get into it. I know this cause my son can still see my town and changes being made. I was given a new town with a bunch of free items but I'm still missing my characters and stuff
I was playing Tapped Out last night on my Kindle Fire when my game froze while I was visiting people. I restarted my Kindle and loaded up the game again. I got the message 'Your Springfield has been signed into on another device' but thanks to these forums I knew to just hit 'Play Now' and 'Continue'.
On the loading screen it showed my Level as being 38, when it's only 16. I signed in just to double check, and I was in an unfamiliar town. I accidentally cleared a few handshakes while looking around, and I had to accept the money gift for visiting so many days in a row. But I exited the game without touching anything else, and loaded up the game again to thankfully find my own untouched town.
I think it's likely most people are like you, Azzie, and don't mess with a town that isn't their own. Unfortunately, there are those who aren't so kind. I feel terrible for my neighbor, Mopurglar, who lost over a thousand donuts due to this problem.
I was just locked out of my town today. Luckily no one touched anything (or more importantly spent any donuts). I was holding off on buying the volcano lair until I had more room, but I think it's best to get it now and store it before my donuts vanish.
I just logged into someone else's town. I had looked to make sure it had my name, which it did, and then I was in someone else's Springfield. This happened to my husband just yesterday. We both immediately left the respective Springfield's, but this is horrible!! I feel very uneasy with someone entering my town and spending my donuts. This needs to be resolved asap!!
My guess is that they haven't wanted to spend the money. This sort of thing doesn't seem to be rampant in other games.
Debugging software and/or upgrading equipment costs money. Much cheaper to wait for customers to jump through the support hoops and then restore the town to an earlier save. Even if they toss you a few extra donuts, those donuts don't cost them anything. Some customers will give up and quit the game. Others will just buy more donuts.
The vast majority of people playing this game have no idea that this is happening. Most who get benign invaders, never know it. So far, the potential repercussions have been manageable.
I can think of no other rationale for such a serious problem to have continued for so long.
I am constantly entering others springfields, my daughter also. I hope this get resolved before someone enters my land and either blows my donuts or cash.

This really needs fixing!
Restarted and got my own town back. Whew.
Totally scary as I am level 38 been playing over a year and would be gutted if someone trashed my town.
My daughter's town was hacked. Buildings missing, depleted inventory, items moved around and donuts spent!!
We want our money back for the donuts!

Wouldn't it help if there was some "pinned" thread for this?
