Oy... know I will likely get flamed but I cannot keep it just in my head.

So... everyone who hates the updates is long time players? The same people who have already bought evert avalable premium item and you're mad you're getting nothing for free this time?

Guess what.... you're not EA's target player for this game anymore.

In the freemium system, it is all about keeping the new people happy, so they continue to play and spend. If you've already got everything and have given them all your money and have nothing new to buy, the company is really done caring about you. It's the way businesses work now. Sorry... it just is how it is.

I was not a player last year - Android girl (hey! At least all you iPad players can laud your Mapple store over me!). Like with other events since I started, I am glad to see things from previous year's events come back so I can have them too. And I am hopefully they will continue to do this so new friends who have become players since post-Halloween can also have the chance to get these things too. It keeps them happy and playing, it keeps me with good neoighborinos.

But the true aim of the people running a game like this... bring in new revenue. And that means you have to keep the new people who can still spend happy until they too have spent all they can spend and they're not what you are focusing on anymore.

Um..... I don't have everything available, but I am a long time player- update sux. Unless you are newer or a premium player. Middle ground people like me are who got left out....
And your right it IS revenue their after- that's why every update has something that costs donuts. Freemium players are not really the intended audience in that respect, premium money paying people are. And it's clear that's not the case.
All people are saying is maybe they could have thrown Something in for in game $$ that we want that wasn't from last year

Meaning besides the Leprechaun Statue which is new. We get 5 free donuts Monday maybe they will give a free gift as well. I'd feel the same if I had last years stuff I'm a premium player but Id rather that they focus on fixing the wrong town glitch then a big update atm

The older players still spend money every time new content comes out. I bought the damn cafe but why shouldn't I also get a in game cash building like yourself. A company's goal is to not only bring in new customers and their money but to also keep their old customers coming back and spending money. So your theory on them only caring about new customers is seriously flawed.

It would be awesome if the free gift was The Northern Irish leprechaun but I doubt will be that lucky

The money you have already given EA is spent by them. Doesn't matter how much you may have "invested" in the game... you're a dried up customer if you're not someone who has yet to buy all the premium items. The only new revenue they get is when you waste 300 doughnuts on a whale, they're not getting the money when you're new and need to have everything.

But new players... it's all possible revenue. New players are starting from zero and the main source of new cash coming in.

And not to argue...but there is a medium to complain about this. Go to the respective store (IOS/Android) where you downloaded the game and rate it. Rate it with your honesty and complaints. I know it's small potatoes, but if everyone did this, the game might fall to a sub par level that EA is unhappy with.

That "forum" is open to the world prior to even having it on their device. No big name company like EA wants to see a 2 star rating in the App Store. Maybe I am wrong, but it is a suggestion rather than always complaining.

    I repeat

Dried up? I'm only dried up if I choose to not buy more doughnuts. As long as they come put with good updates then I will spend money. If you are freemuim player you got a very nice building for in game cash. I got nothing because I already own the building. Why not have two new in game cash buildings and a premium one? I still bought the new cafe. I will stop buying ant going if updates continue like this and they lose any future money that I might spend. Every business on the planet would be out of business if they only cared about getting new customers. The goal is to get the customers and RETAIN them. They will not retain customers if they only give deals to new customers kind of like this update. You got a cool building, I got nothing becuAse I already owned it. What they should have done is cone out with a completely new building that everybody could have gotten for in game cash plus the premium one. I would have been very satisfied then.

I've never complained about an update until this one. The older players got short changed and if hey keep this up, they will lose players.

I agree with you flawless analogy, that why all updates only cater to new players and have the same characters running the quest line. That's so a new player not a veteran can start at the beginning and complete it in the given time.

Quite frankly, you're wrong, and seriously wrong. Do you think you're gonna get people buying lots of donuts if they just started a game? I personally didnt spend a dime on this game till I was six months deep into it. The premium players who are already paying are going to be willing to buy again if the right item comes along. For a new player, they're still feeling it out. No person on this planet downloads a free-to-play game with the intention of spending hundreds of dollars on donuts like the players who have played for two years would. Because they have played for two years, they feel like its money well spent. If you're still new, with a small town, overwhelmed by all of the stuff and the sheer cost it takes to buy EVERYTHING, it scares more people away then draws in.

Is it really that flawed? The new players are happy and you spent donuts on new content. You just proved it right.
You did pay in game cash for the building, just a year ago with a different quest. Maybe the new people should complain that you got to do a different quest then they did.

And Victoria is right, us longtime players aren't the target market anymore.

I for one am so happy I get to have O'Flanagan's Pub due to the fact that I started playing Mid November of last year. I've enviously seen it in many of neighbors towns. Happy it wasn't for donuts.

I started playing in June, so I didn't get the pub either, but I would have been willing to pay donuts for it. I feel like the developers would have made long term players happier by giving a new item for dollars and the old items for donuts, so if somebody really wanted them they would have to pay. As it is, I probably won't be buying either of the premium items. Although I may end up getting the cafe before the time is up.

It is flawed. They do want new revenue, but anything that comes in is new revenue. There's nothing newer about money spent by a new player.

If you answer a sucker ad, you're going to get a lot more of them. Why? Because you're a better bet than random unknowns. Nobody says, "Forget 'em, they've already been bled dry."

The vast majority of players never buy donuts. Once you've hooked some whales, you'd better hold onto them. New players are important to maintain a growing community. How many whales are going to stay in a ditch that used to be an ocean? Only a tiny few of the new players will become whales.

For as long as the show has been on, I can't imagine they're running out of possible content. The main limiting factor is probably stability. How much more content can this game hold? Even on newer tablets, this game can stutter badly.

You've made more sense then anyone else on here arguing over this update. I agree the pub should of been donuts because it is from last year and the cafe should of been cash, but they aren't so I see no point in arguing over it. I'll admit I bought the pub and immediately broke down and bought the cafe.

Hi that would be nice, the new player could get the pub with ToF which cost 1,900 and pay like 120 donuts, and get the cafe with leprechaun for like 1,900. (What's the difference) Then have all the people who bought the wishing well with leprechaun for 150 donuts complain that you can get the cafe with leprechaun for cash.
