Wouldn't it be great to be able to send messages to 'friends'. I wanted to compliment a few people on some cool designs but can't. Apart from just copying I guess...
I've been thinking the same thing. You'd think Origin would offer some kind of advantages over Game Center...
If you download the Origin client onto your computer, it not only shows a list of all your friends but it also shows you when they are online and allows you to message them. It says that you can use it cross platform but I've never tried it on the iOs and I've read here that it doesn't work.
I've wanted to be able to do this for a while now. I've wished that I could leave a note in someone's town commenting on some design I've liked or if they've done something funny that's made me laugh. Or to leave a note telling them they need to put their characters to work!
This would be such a nice feature. They could just keep it to 154 characters like twitter even. Being able to comment on a town or ask a question directly would be awesome
Everyone I know has independently come up with this idea soon after playing the game. It seems so obvious and would feel so natural to be able to drop a message to someone in their town, letting them know you dropped by, giving them props for nice ideas and so on. It's a social game for crying out loud!
My housemate had the best idea: use the post office. When you tap on the PO in a friend's town, the keyboard could pop up and you could leave a short note. When your friend logs in, an envelope icon hovers above the building and tapping it shows you the message!
They've done diddly-squat with that building so far - not even assigning any character tasks to it - so there's potential there that they might just be waiting for lot of people to get it first (it's a level 23 building I believe). I live in hope anyway, a man can dream.
