After looking around the forums for a while i almost always see something about whacking day. It seems like a huge event in TSTO. So i've been wondering is it the best event in the year? Why exactly is it that everyone always seems to talk about it?
it was an awsome event for content! We got a ton of buildings and items, but man! The event was sore on ya fingers. If they chose to do it this year, I think they will make it easier on the fingers lol. Like they did with Halloween by giving us a ghost zapper and vacuum..
But to answer you question it's a big event where your town in over run by snakes, and you have to tap the hell out of them, and by doing so you collected "eggs and snakes". Eggs you gave to your neighbours to hopefully hatch snakes to help gain prizes,
snakes is like goo in Halloween update where you get prizes. After collecting a certain amount.
Well, hopefully they do the same as they've done in the past, since i missed it last year. Even with halloween i didn't fully understand the point of having neighbors so didn't bother with it. Sounds like fun and i think i would enjoy it now that i know of this games full potential

sadly I think they will limit us on how many eggs we can drop tho in a town, but last year we could just keep putting them down. I remember giving 500+ eggs to one town and the game crashed and we both lost the eggs ugggg (crash wasn't because of the eggs ) lol but good fun helping each other tho
I started playing during the whacking day update, but I heard that you had to be a certain level to participate in the update. Also, I didn't join origin until later. I'm happliy waiting for whacking day this year. ?
I loved whacking day! True I got a little sleep deprived trying to remember to tap snake rock every four hours lol, but it was all in the name of fun! it was the first event that really got me involved and gripped!
as much as i don't want it to be repeated this year if they do it again they had better make it so the whacked snakes always give you a snake.. last year some gave snakes and others eggs which just added to the ungodly amount of tapping.
plus placing eggs in friends towns was done one at a time which was time consuming and painful on your fingers.
IMO it was the best event so far, it was really fun tapping all the snakes and there were a lot of prizes and what not. I wouldn't mind to see it back this year
I honestly dont mind if they bring back WD again, last year was good fun Yes there were problems but when isnt there with an update, the game content they gave us were good.....it was just very hard on the fingers
I know one thing i wont be doing is completing the update in under 24hrs again thats for sure, that nearly killed me last year

As long as you were past the tutorial, and completed Homer and Lisa's first 24hr tasks, anyone could start whacking snakes. To get all the prizes, though, you had to be fairly dedicated and have a lot of neighbours, and probably secure an egg buddy you knew who would trade you the eggs they got. Otherwise you'd kind of waste giving all your eggs to neighbours you didn't necessarily know, and not get that many in return. Also, whacking snakes was hard in your neighbours' towns, as there were only 5 total in the town, (unless you paid donuts for the ability to get 10 in each town), and they could hide behind buildings and decorations and stuff. In comparison, the ghosts at Halloween had multiple ghosts in each town to choose 5 from, and floated above buildings so were much much easier to find.
Not an easy event. Some liked that, some didn't.
Oh, also, the mechanism for setting down snake eggs in neighbours town was exhausting, the gremlins at Halloween and gift bags at Christmas were a big improvement in placement system. That combined with a crash that, as Undaunted said, would wipe out all the eggs you just placed AND deduct them from your total was beyond frustrating sometimes.
I'm kinda looking forward to it, though  Hopefully they'll make improvements to all the mechanics from last year.
Hopefully the 2014 WD Event will be a little easier than the 2013 one. I wonder if they will add a spinning wheel in the next event.
I hope not. Random chance doesn't seem to sit right with a lot of people, especially if they're on the wrong side of the distribution scale. I didn't have a problem getting everything, but I had to listen to people who did.
They don't need a wheel of chance with Whacking Day......that would be overdoing it. It's enough to keep up,with all the whacking you have to do! I really like Whacking Day. Anything to socialize with your neighbors is fine with me.

I'm hoping it's a little bit like last years and valentines this year where we can purchase the stuff with snakes. If a wheel is going to be used it'll probably be like the wheel of friendship giving us something when we clear it

Anyone feel free to correct me. It's been a wile
