The Simpsons executive producer Al Jean says he expects the TV show, now celebrating its 25th year, to last for at least five more years and maybe until it is 50
Al Jean, the executive producer of The Simpsons, says he is confident that Homer and Co will be around until 2019 and could even survive to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
Jean, 53, who has worked on more than 500 episodes of The Simpsons since it launched in 1989, said: "In show business you always treat every day as your last, but we're guaranteed through 26 seasons. The deals are usually in instalments of four and the ratings are good, so I can't see why we wouldn't go to 30 . . .and why can't we go to 40 or even 50."
The Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad are like Star Trek TNG's episode "The Masterpiece Society" If any one leaves it is devastating. Case in point Family Guys attempt to kill off Brian. I dont know if the reason he was brought back was always the plan or because of fan outrage! But all the main characters of these shows work together to make the magic. IMO it is near impossible to remove any of the main characters without some serious problems.

Thats good to know that they still want to continue making the series
This thread had me thinking what will happen to the Fast and Furious Franchise? Will they try and make another without Paul Walker.
My guess is it would be left up to ratings (for the simpsons)
For all we know the actors have a clause that if any quit or die the show would end. That to me would make sense.
I for one would prefer they end it if anything happened to any of the fab 6.
The last i heard about the F&F Franchise was that they were going to continue making No.7 and basically have it that Paul Walker decides to retire from the team with all their antics etc. they are still considering making 8 & 9 films as the films bring in so much money for them.
No.7 will be finished as to whether 8&9 will be made is another thing.

It all comes down to money!! If the magic is gone its gone. Shall I mention "After M.A.S.H", "Fish" and "Joanie Loves Chachi"

Hopefully "the magic" wont be gone, although yes it wont be the same without Paul, but the rest of the crew can hold their own, hopefully the Lucas Black who is in F&F7 might be able to fill the spot in a different way of course. From what i heard they were looking at involving Lucas Black more in the films anyway.
