I'm pretty sure that whenever you get the "this account has been logged in from a different device" it is because of this glitch. It has happened to me several times thankfully nobody touched anything.

I tried contacting EA telling them about the logged in from a different device error. I told them that i only have one device (my iphone) that can play TSTO and that I've never used any other device before to log in to my account or my origin account.
The EA customer service just said it was due to bad connection basically but I'm sure the error message comes up whenever a stranger gets access to your account through this glitch.

Sorry to hear that someone messed up your Town.. its every Tappers Nightmare
I haven't had the "his account has been logged in from a different device" message since the Update
so i thought they fixed it. Maybe not enough people wrote to support about it because most players
are decent and dont change anything when logged into a wrong town.
Anyway, i hold back on buying a Boatload of Donut as i originally planned because of this mess :/

    Good Luck OP!

The cynical side of me suspects that not only is this not true, they know it's not true. Telling people what they told you, since most don't know about the wrong town glitch, will tend to calm people down. They have no incentive to scare their customers.

This is another horrific story. :(

    I would definitely contact EA
    http://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/?product=the-simpsons-tapped-out

Another less commonly used avenue is the EA Answer HQ. I'm going to start recommending that people experiencing a loss of items or donuts, report to this thread.
    http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Simpsons-Tapped-Out/LOST-ITEMS/m-p/2588786#U2588786

And then, there is this thread in Bugs and Fixes.
    http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/10008273.page

Seriously let EA know that this is happening from every avenue you can. Even if I had just one thing out of place or missing, that is exactly what I would do.

not picking on your post, I only quoted it because you were the last one to say it
In my opinion more than 1 person reporting a problem like this should be enough for EA to look into fixing it. 1 time could be a glitch, more than once is a problem.

with millions of people playing the game even a dozen occurances could just be a glitch!

I don't think its that because I play on one device I get that message everytime I log off from and into my feeder town or my main account.

Your case is different, most of us aren't switching off like that. In your case, I suspect that the game only keeps one save on the device. When you switch to your feeder, the save for your main town is overwritten. The next time you go to your main town, the game looks for the save and doesn't find it. This makes the game think you are playing on a new device.

This is really crummy, I'm so sorry for the OP.

It sounds like someone intentionally wanted to sabotage their game, selling limited release holiday items to screw the town owner from being able to rebuy them. What a petty, jealous little child.

EA should be able to check the log based on when the OP reported the ongoing tasks were started, then pull an IP address.

compare that to the IP log and see who usually signs in with it, and identify the offender. Unless it's just crossing up login ID's in which case it is even easier because the account wasnt really hacked, just accessed.

Then technically the OP should be able to sue for damages, since actual funds were spent. But of course EA won't support that.

The login will be banned and the offender will just make a new one. Thugs never learn and faith is never fully restored. It's sad.

BUT THIS is the issue that should be the most prominent concern here. The security of accounts is much more important than how long it takes for a level update!
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

Sorry this happened to you, I do wish though that I could sell of any of my holiday stuff :( none of it can go away, it all just sits in my inventory as clutter.

This is pretty disturbing. I feel so bad for the OP. I hope EA can help restore his town and property. The few times I've had issues (never anything as bad as this, knock wood, EA responded pretty quickly.

Please update and let us know if EA was able to
    help you!

This is my second SF. First one is plagued by glitches since Halloween. Report it and give them specifics. Every time I sign on and hit a hiccup I hold my breath in fear from what someone may have done. So far nothing, but twice I was told it was saved on another device and I only use one device. Every report will paint a better picture of why and how, which should lead to a fix.

Good luck and I'll keep everything crossed for a good outcome for you.

Still no response from EA, but not expecting one until maybe Monday or Tuesday due to the weekend. Hoping that all they need to do is "reset" my town to prior to this, even a few days before would be fine, as I really didn't do anything spectacular other than the Sanjay house. I'm not even all that upset about the donuts or money, as the donuts were the ones that are given as rewards for leveling up. The money is simple to earn back, but the premium items that I bought that are gone are what bothers me. I haven't bought a lot of donuts/tickets but I would say over the course of about 1 1/2 years I have spent roughly $50-$60 and used those to buy specific items for my style of play. I know it's not any of my neighbors either as I am a solo player with ZERO friends. I did this so I could see just how far I could progress without the neighbor "bonuses".

There's got to be a way of letting people know you've been in their town. How about a half turn of the Simpsons House. It's a good way to let someone know they've been a victim without doing any damage.

A half turn of mine would be difficult too, but it can be done with a little work. And I'd like to know if my town is being entered.

This is a good idea for people who are aware of the problem to begin with. Those of us on the forum have become familiar with it, but if I was unaware of the wrong-town glitch, this would totally freak me out. Reminiscent of the Charles Manson Family's activity that they called "creepy crawling" . They'd sneak into a house while a family was sleeping and rearrange some furniture and leave without taking anything. So, id just get a chill seeing my simpson house turned around and have absolutely no idea that it was just a friendly signal to watch out. Maybe I should never have read "Helter Skelter" :(

It would give a good indication of how often this is happening. If a ticket is opened each time then EA could get a much better picture. I was logged into the wrong town once and I left with touching anything. That is one time EA never heard about.
