Why do people feel the need to apologize for not visiting neighbours? Who cares?
I actually do give a swut that one of my neighbors is in the hospital getting operations on his spine. It's not like we're super close friends or anything, but he's still a human being in pain and I hope he gets better soon.
The "Apology" threads telling everyone that that particular person is not going to visit/play for a while are getting a little annoying. There are currently 3 out of 9 post on the front page explaining this. I get that you feel bad and would like to explain yourself and that's fine. But, I think it would be better done through PM's. The treads are usually directed to 5 to 10 people and the chances those people will actually see the thread are small as well. Maybe that can be merged into one generic thread or something.

who cares if you are not visiting your neighbors?
it benefits the person doing the visiting much more than the person being visited. It is always nice to see people have visited but honestly i could care less if they did or not.
I only visit neighbors because it helps me

I can only remember two of my neighbours off the top of my head, I can't remember all 60 of you, let alone he people who have a hundred. No one notices if you don't visit.
I think you're forgetting that many folks here have neighbors from the forums and their relationships may not be as one-sided as yours seem to be.
As neuroheart said, if I have a neighbor going through some stuff, then I'm more than willing to offer my encouragement and a kind word to another human being. Just because you don't understand this doesn't mean it's drama-mongering or grandstanding.

besides a lot of people that add you do not post on these forums so they do not get or care about the message.. if you really want to tell them PM the people you know from here that visit you.

There are a couple people (you are one) that i do take a look around at their town to see what is going on. but you know i am not going to spend 5 minutes looking around to find something to graffiti just so you can get an extra 1FP.
I'm the same, it takes so long to visit all 100 friends unless i see the graffiti buildings i just tap the 1st three buildings i see, granted there are a few towns i will look around as i also like to see whats going on specially if they redesigning, but the majority of the time im in n then out

When I was new to the Forums, I suggested a thread devoted to people who, for whatever reason, were going to be absent and wanted to let their neighbours know.
I felt it was a matter of courtesy to let people know why you had suddenly dropped off the face of the planet, especially those with whom you might have struck up a rapport or even a friendship. And as Neuro says, if one of my neighbours is departing the Forums for a stint in hospital or something similar, damn right I'd like to know.
Of course it's your right not to care about your neighbours, just as much as it is my right to care.
