Anyone watch the actual show these days?

Prev13
I got season 23 and the episodes seem to have gotten kind of weird, and it's not the simpsons I grew up with. Anyone have any thoughts on the newer episodes? Maybe it has been to long since I have seen the original and need to watch em from the beginning, what you think?

The new episodes aren't great, nothing like what the show used to be like. Although there a few good new season episodes.

Yes I do whenever I can but with so much to do including tapping away on the game it's all to easy to miss the show.

In the UK, we are still someway behind the US so it'll be funny finally getting to watch the tie in episodes in the future.

I've seen every episode of the past few seasons. I like some more than others. Either way, in the end, The Simpsons is comfortable and familiar so I'll keep watching.

Fair point, at least it's not like a drama where you need to see previous episodes to know what's going on (to an extent). You could say watch a series 2 episode and then watch a new episode and still be ok. x

Yeh. I don't care much for the new ones. They seem to care too much about guest stars now.

Most of the TV shows I watch are like that and I prefer it that way. Avengers - Earth's Mightiest Heroes was like that and Jeph Loeb decided it was too much for children and canceled the show so he could make a new one that ties into the film franchise and will be more like Ultimate Spider-Man.

Love the show and I never get tired of it. Even after 2 decades, it's still better and funnier than a lot of other crap on TV. I hope it never goes off air.

I still love it, but there is a special spot in my heart for the classic episodes of the golden era.

I grew up watching the seasons on DVD, but haven't bothered buying past the 13th season. The last episode I watched on TV was the new Treehouse of Horror just because I wanted to unlock that thing in Tapped Out lol. But honestly, I don't watch that much TV anyway besides the TV shows I own on DVD so...

But I would like to start watching The Simpsons again. Playing this game makes me feel nostalgic because of all the childhood memories of watching the show.

I started watching reruns on a local channel about a year ago. All of the episodes were spectacular! However, I watched the episode from this season that tied in with the Fat Tony promotion and I didn't like it as much. There was just too much going on in one episode. I'm going to watch the episode tonight though, to see if it's any better.

I used to watch the simpsons with my family every time it was on during the week, but I moved on to watching comedy central stand up, south park, and workaholics. I guess the simpsons new episodes seem to surreal in a sense

    You'll never stop the Simpsons
Have no fears, we've got stories for years
    How 'bout a crazy wedding
Where something happens, doo doo doo de doo...

    I forget the rest

    Like, Marge becomes a robot
Maybe Moe gets a cell phone
Has Bart ever owned a bear?
Or how 'bout a crazy wedding?
    Where something happens, and do-do-do-do-do
    Sorry for the clip show

I find that the modern Simpsons episodes are nowhere near as good as they used to be. Could the writers finally be running out of ideas?

I watch it once in awhile if I happen to think of it. If it ties into the game I'm much more likely to remember lol.
I love the old episodes but the new ones just aren't the same.

In my country, Argentina, you can watch The Simpsons and Futurama in Fox Channel almost all day.
No matter the time or the day, you come home and good old Simpsons are there for you.

The show is extremely popular here, even one of the major local channels have been broadcasting The Simpsons three times a day for the last 15 years, and all day long on Sundays.

On Sunday night we watch the new episodes. I don't care about the changes, the show needs to evolve no matter how much we miss the magic of the beginning.

I agree with the idea that, even after 2 decades, it's still better and funnier than a lot of other crap on TV.

Any program which isnt completely dried up after 500 episodes is pretty damn good! Got to agree that some newer ones aren't quite the same, but there's so many ideas for an episode right? Respect to them
