So you can't exchange eggs in your own basket?
Basically you buy the baskets to help your friends along? I spent more than 20 donuts last Christmas to help some neighbors finish the wheel of doom...

if you buy the baskets I think after a certain amount of time you can collect the eggs left to you?
I'm not 100% sure, I just bought one of each color now
Seriously, they must matter. WHICH color basket in MY town will get me pink eggs? (Because it seems like the answer should be "pink baskets" but pink baskets could also be giving my neighbors pink eggs and giving me blue ones! I've asked this over and over and no one seems to actually know.)
I think you'd need the pink one in your town because the pink one is for neighbours to drop pink eggs into, so I'm assuming you get at least SOME of the eggs your neighbours picked up?
I'm not sure so sorry if that's wrong, but that's my understanding of it

Hers what I've gather so far.
Instead of the wheel we have Easter Boxes for prizes, you collect pink and blue eggs from friends towns and by tapping bunnies in your own town.
There's a pink egg box for pink eggs
A blue egg box for blue eggs
A gold egg box for gold eggs which you can only win from the pink and blue boxes
Each box takes 500 eggs to play
Each box has different prizes to win.
You receive more pink eggs than blue eggs.
The pink eggs give 100 gold eggs.
The blue box gives 300 gold eggs.
Just like the wheel you can buy eggs for a chance at a prize, or just earn them.
Hope this helps.
Easter baskets are for sharing eggs with you friends. You can buy them, or win them as a prize or get them from bunnies. I got a blue basket from a bunny.
You don't have to buy egg baskets, and since blue eggs give you more gold eggs your are getting something good in the exchange. But you don't have to exchange eggs, you can tap the buildings as usual and collect eggs. I think this feature will come in to play a lot more once you've collected as many of the pink prizes you want.
You are especially awesome for answering my question twice. Thank you again.
The next question is: how many eggs can a basket hold?
Curiouser and curiouser...
I said it's a switch effect. The guide shows:
BLUE eggs into BLUE basket -> yields PINK eggs
PINK eggs into PINK basket -> yields BLUE eggs

You're wlecome
probably to make it harder for us to finish quickly and complain about lack of stuff
and so then people might buy all three currencies with donuts = more money for EA
Once they were full, I was able to collect them. I don't remember the exact number. Maybe 300 each.
After they are full an egg icon appeared and once tapped, you get the eggs and the basket disappears.
The eggs somewhat help neighbors but it is more asking for charity.
Thank you, that was really helpful
4 eggs (a trade in of 100 eggs each)= 400 when you collect and your basket goes away.
I'm still not really getting this bit. When does the trade actually happen? For eg: I went to a neighbour's town and their basker was asking me to trade 100 of my pink eggs and I would receive 50 blue eggs in return. I hadn't read the forum yet so didn't really understand it, but clicked anyway
