Right, because people not being happy with an event automatically means they want everything on a silver platter.
For what unfortunately will probably not be the last time, this game is not hard work. It's time consuming. Also it's a game. One of the reasons people play games is for a sense of accomplishment. Tying the amount of time (or effort) put into a game to the reward one receives is good game design. That's a pretty well established concept.

Honestly, I usually get really frustrated with the complaints, but the complaints about the complaints are driving me way more crazy right now. At least the people complaining about the game are still talking about the game. I have seen very few (if any) comments that bring up entitlement as well as an opinion about the event. About another person, sure, but the actual thing this forum is geared towards--nope.

Nothing worse than complaining about complaining about complaining!

I hate how people have no basic math skills on here. It's like Halloween when people kept on asking how to view the community counter all over again.

If no one complains, nothing will get fixed. Simple as that.

I use to like this forum. It was full of people giving real advice and answering questions without the snippy attitude but I have to say it's starting to sound like every other forum.

People are already complaining about an event that is "impossible" to earn everything they want. The event is only about 4% complete. We have plenty of time to find out whether or not it's "impossible". Let's lose the negative attitude and just play for fun.

That said - I know that not everyone is whining and I still say Thank You to those of you that make informative posts.

    Best of luck to everyone!

just a bit upset that the crazy cat lady is cost donuts, but hey at least she is finally in the game :)

You don't need to fix what isn't broken.

Complainers are always the minority... Why? Because happy, satisfied people are less likely to be vocal. Whether it's this game, restaurant reviews, politics...etc. EA wouldn't be rolling in the money if there weren't millions of satisfied customers. Sure, things should be fixed and problems addressed, but major complaining about not getting everything is ridiculous. At the end of the day, this is a free game. No one forces you to buy donuts and have everything. If that's your deal then so be it. No guarantee was ever offered. It's like walking into a casino and expecting to win everytime you pull the handle. Ummm no. The idea is for you to keep putting money in on the off chance you'll get something.

I buy donuts when I have the extra money and I view it as entertainment. I visit all 100 neighbors every 24 hours and religiously tap away on bunnies. I bought the 100 donut package of eggs and already have the blocko store, Father Sean, the kang and kodo bushes and a handful of other items. Would I be crushed if I didn't end up with everything? Nope. I'm also aware that this is DAY TWO! There's still 3 weeks left. Maybe some of these complaints would be better served after 2 weeks and seeing what they've accrued.

One thing to add to the thread.

I never asked for everything for free. I was always happy to pay to have the premium items I always believed the wheels were a bad idea and I really thought EA was trying to do good by its paying customers by making a wheel that seemed better (valentines day) but than went to a format that was much worse than the first chance wheel.

You can call it whining if you want but from my point of view they are legitimate complaints from paying customers.

    I agree with you 100%

Why accuse people of whining? Why accuse people of complaining?

Premium players spend real money on the game, like rolybert7 said, I am always happy to pay to have the premium items I want in my town, some say the wheel was a bad idea, the only bad thing about the wheel was adding items to it that should have either been a ridiculous amount of in game cash, or donuts. Put all the pointless crap on it and at the end of the event let us sell it if we want to. That was my beef with the wheel. EA had the formula perfect, personal prizes, community prizes and the wheel to have extra items. The wheels unpopularity meant EA came up with this, which is the same **** as the wheel, chance. EA could have easily created a game like sideshow you, where you crack an egg to win prizes, but they came up with this instead, and to make any decent progress you have to either buy eggs, buy baskets ataa stupid premium rate, to win, wait for it, a stupid fence that will probably remain in the inventory because we won't be able to sell it.

OP, I understand your frustration, when I first came here I felt the same, however, over time, I have begun to see what people mean when they are unhappy. Josh may not have been popular, but he did make a hell of a lot of valid points before he was banned.

This forum gives people the opportunity to say what they are feeling, for people to be asked to stop saying how they feel is wrong. I've always said, if you don't like a comment, ignore it or don't read it.

As anoying as people may think they are, the complaint threads actually do benefit the game should EA decide to listen

Someone posted you need 80 gold boxes to get every item in the gold box. If the event stays as it is it would take at least 2 months to get that many with 100 friends and no donuts used.

Hopefully EA will have something similar to Christmas where for a limited time you can earn double stuff. If not you will definitely not get all the better gold prizes.

What I want to know is how did someone confirm the 80 box thing. How did someone earn 80 gold boxes after only 2 days  I have spent 300 dounuts on eggs alone and got like 8 and 5 of them are pastel fences.

My prediction is there will be allot of Springfields surrounded by fences after this update.:mrgreen:
