You've missed the point completely. Congrats.

People seem so upset and unhappy with a game they keep playing, and yet very few could name a game that's a better Freemium than TSTO. I'm perfectly happy with the game.

And believe me, if I was after attention I'd be like some of you lot making 100 individual threads about every tiny change to the game.

People complaining about the complainers should stop complaining and just quit TSTO forum. Seriously.

The complaints are never going to stop because the game is going downhill and your complaint about complaint thread is not going to change that.

Also, threads like these are worse than simple complaint threads because those at least discuss the game.

My main main gripe with this game, is I used to be able to choose between wasting time, or wasting money, and now it seems like it wants me to waste both.

No, you shouldn't. It's clearly laid out what you get if you spend donuts. Premium characters/buildings and event currency. You receive Premium characters/buildings and event currency. Beyond that, you have nothing more to complain about than a Freemium player.

Once again you miss the points of the complaints almost completely.

They don't want to buy event currency for gambling! That's why they are complaining, so that it doesn't happen again.

How hard is that to understand?

It's not happened before, it's not been popular this time so they complain. It's just that simple, EA changed the game to something people don't like so they are complaining.

how about you tell me of a game that offers you more on a Freemium level than this one.
Tribez, and its sequel Tribez and Castlez. Multiple islands to build up and reasonable prices on premiums.
Clumsy Ninja, a cute storyline with a cute little ninja. No premiums required, as they just change his clothes, and a few gems are rewarded weekly.
Amateur Surgeon, with dozens of levels and a storyline. No tricks, and no paying for a chance at winning an upgrade, you just get what you pay for.
Doctor Who Legacy, one of the best match three games I've ever found, also happens to have a storyline and many levels and characters. There's a certain element of chance to getting characters in this one, because you "roll" for some of them, but you'll never get a pile of eggs instead.

There. I've given you my examples. Now I'm going to say that you contribute nothing to this forum, you change all suggestions on how to improve this game into a bizarre absolute that all we want is instant gratification instead of something worthwhile for our time, and I hope the day soon comes when you either get sick of it or prove yourself to be a troll one too many times and the mods ban you.

I love the freemium game called kick the can. You find a can on the street and kick it. If you want to switch to premium you go to the store, buy a coke, drink it, then kick that can. No donuts, no grinding....it's awesome! available on all operating systems.

I tried that but my can went down a drain, and when I complained about losing it I got told off for complaining
I'd like to complain about how epic these comments are. They are over 9000! Surely, I make every effort to complain about the quality of TSTO, it's kinda my thing, but it is far from the only freemium game I play. The Play store is full of 'em, so when I get too hacked off about the declining quality of content for my beloved epic failure that is TSTO, I merely switch to some other game and get hacked off. Then I turn off my device, enter this forum, and complain about TSTO. Rinse, repeat, complain, uh, I mean cash the freakin' check. What can I say? I'm a malcontent. Or maybe I just enjoy complaining about complaining. Or maybe, I complain because the only way issues with crappy updates, with crappier content, at the crappiest odds MIGHT be somewhat rectified, is if I make my feelings known, along with all the other people who are fed up. Now, I must go find something else to complain about.

this.. if i want to gamble i'll go to the casino and play some roulette and blackjack..

i don't get why people want people to stop complaining.. premium or freemium a large majority of people don't support this new style of event. if we don't complain about it so much EA will do it again

You know, i just had a thought while shaking my head at the comments made by the author of this thread and i just realised something, at the end of this Easter event, EA will undoubtably use Homer and Lisa to mock us again in dialogue, how do i know, because i think it's become predictable

    Maybe something like...

Lisa: Ummm, Dad, i've been on the internet and people aren't very happy with us

Homer: Oh Lisa, they complain about complainers, they got free stuff didn't they?

Lisa: Well, not really, a lot of people paid money for donuts to get through this event

Homer: Well, that's their choice, what do they want, a medal?

Lisa: You don't have to be sarcastic Dad, these people keep this game going

CBG: *ahem* Mr Simpson please be aware that I have registered my discust at this game on many a forum

    Homer: Really?

Lisa: I told you this was big Dad... Maybe we should give them something to say thanks for hanging on, or even say sorry we messed up

Homer: Lisa, we all know everyone at EA is right and the little people are wrong!

    Lisa: DAD!!!

    Homer: What?

Lisa: You can't say that about our loyal players

CBG: Homer, i have just posted your comments online and rest assured the people will know what you think of them

CBG: Now if you don't mind, my breakfast burrito is congeling rapidly...

Homer: So what do we do now?

Homer: Give everyone 10 donuts and hope for the best?

Lisa: I don't know Dad, i think that would probably add injury to insult...

CBG: Yes, and it's not like you can get much in the game for 10 lousy donuts, if yo udo that, i'll be registering my discust once again on the forums, thank you

    Homer: You still here???

Anyway, i think it might look something like that if it happens

*edit* reading it back though, i think i may have captured Lisa's personality somewhat rather well in that dialogue :D

Be warned, dave3490, if you keep churning out eloquent and amusing complaints of this caliber at the break-neck pace you seem to be setting, half the forum regulars are going to start stalking you!

Getting really tired of all the complaint threads that seem to boil down to a level of entitlement and greed, whether it be because you bought donuts and expected to insta-get the prizes. Or that you got something, but it wasn't the very best prizes (especially when there's still time left on the event).

So rather than post yet another complaint thread wailing on about how terrible this event is, or how we should have had more land in the latest level update, How about you tell me of a game that offers you more on a Freemium level than this one.

Maybe if people actually got some perspective they wouldn't be so demanding.

If I see a pile of crap, and I can't find a better pile of crap, that doesn't change the fact that the first pile of crap is, in fact, a pile of crap. The fact that you don't mind immersing yourself in the superior pile of crap says a lot. The rest of us have higher expectations. Thus the threads asking that those expectations be met.

What on earth are you babbling on about.

You've just proved my point by calling it a pile of crap. How on earth can a game that allows you to build a really great town without paying a cent be crap? I'm talking about the game here, not the event. And yet you can't stop referring back to it.

And if you feel the game is a pile of crap, why would you play it. What kind of person does that? :?

I really like Jurassic Park Builder. Also Nemo's Reef. I played The Muppets Most Wanted for awhile too, but it got a bit boring. There are other fun freemium games out there. It all depends on what you like. TSTO is by no means the be-all and end-all of freemium gaming, though it is my personal favorite. I don't understand why the complaints bother you. That's what the forum is for. Positive AND negative feedback. Just ignore the complaint threads if they really irritate you. Stick to threads that you like. That's what I do. Sometimes people need to vent, that's all. It's not that big of a deal.

Gosh, I'm sorry. I assumed everyone knew this was more than a decorating game. Well, then in that case, I have wonderful news

The obvious choice is "Little Big City." Free! 5 million downloads. 4 stars. Really cute. You get to create your own huge city. The kids next door love it.

If you're in the decorating mood, you're in luck! There's another decorating game called "Pink Bedroom". You'd be disappointed because it's only one room, but it would be a good starter game. You get to pick your own bed and rug and curtains. Over 10,000 downloads and 4 stars! FREE! Cool, right? My five year old niece loves it.

TSTO has more. Updates and events. You should try those out. The game used to have good ones. This time it turned to crap. We're talking about that stuff. We keep playing because we expect them to change it back. Hope springs eternal.

I'm pretty sure that if they just wanted us to build a neato town, they'd have called it "Build Your Own Springfield" and put it with the "Little Big City" type games.

Sorry you're missing out on the advanced stuff.

She just said your comfortable in the dirty diaper EA has left you in, it must still be warm. most of us on the other hand are demanding a change.
Again with the why do you play it routine. because this game was great and went to crap and we are hoping EA will pull its head outta the dirty diaper hamper and get the game back were it was..

What you're forgetting, OP, is that there's an unspoken agreement with freemium games. Developers really do want us to spend money on these games. Their business model depends on it. But just because a game is freemium doesn't alleviate responsibility from the developers to generate satisfying gameplay.

We need to drop this notion that just because a game is free it means the game designers are no longer liable to the customer. In fact, the transverse is true! The fact that players are voluntarily paying puts more onus on the developers to provide a good gaming experience because now, players are paying for a premium service.

For further examples of increased expectations due to paying a premium, see also: HBO, valet parking, first class airfare, Blu-ray Discs, Super Size Big Mac meal, honey roasted peanuts, 3D movies, Ferraris, Tranformers (not GoBots)...

ROFL. Who would ever have imagined a situation in which it makes perfect sense to have a list that includes both Super Size Big Mac Meals AND Ferraris?
