Now that it's over rate the Easter update

More baskets would have made this event a lot less rage inducing.

Easily a solid "B" from my perspective - I don't quite get all the rage, but for me, I got everything except Hugs, Sean, and Shary (without spending any donuts on eggs). And I'm 100% fine with not getting them as I have more than enough characters to task and 20 million in game cash. I received a bunch of new "loot" for my town and three buildings for "free."

Would have liked better egg returns on neighbor visits as well as less stingy bunny-coughing-up-baskets so I could have opened more gold boxes. It was certainly not as good as previous events, but I enjoyed myself (and I might be the only one who did).

I'd be curious to see two polls ... One poll rating the Easter event as it was presented as a game of chance, and the other poll rating the rest of the event's components.

The offered prizes, characters, buildings, design, and story line were the best I've seen in the game so far. Obviously, a LOT of creativity went into it.

It could have been a rousing success. Instead, it was a complete train wreck from start to finish.

    +1

That and when they did drop they weren't broken

I always had friends with a basket or two to get rid of my commons but I know some people had trouble getting rid of eggs

Well, I'm not entirely familiar with the American grade system, but...

Too me, this event had a great idea that was executed poorly.

Zapping bunnies, trying to collect eggs, was a good (and cute) idea.
Earning baskets to be able to help friends out and get helped by freinds was also great. Event should be about socializing, in my opinion, it's great to get to interact with the neighbours more than just tap-tap-tap-next.
And the prizes were great! Lost of buildings and interesting characters and some nice decorations.

Where I think it failed was in the high prize of boxes that limited your chances of winning anything at all (even stupid fences  ), and in the low basket drop rate that incuraged way less social interaction than I would have liked.

During X-mas there was a low drop rate of giftbags, which was frustrating for a lot of people wanting to give gifts to their neighbours. But at least you got some. This time around, a lot of people where left with almost no baskets because of the whole Faberge egg thing and the broken baskets. Which made the event a bit unfair, IMO. I'm not saying it needs to be 100% fair, of course you should be able to gain advantages by paying with time or donuts, but this unfairness was totally random, which I think frustrated a lot of people.

Myself, I ended up with no characters, only one of the buildings and a lot of trees and beach towels. To be honest, I feel like a fool for wasting all that time. But then again, when is a game not a waste of time?

    So to sum up:
Great idea, poor execution. Is that a D, maybe? (At least they turned it in on time...)

    Meh.

Burned a lot of donuts getting everything, and now I'm left with a kazillion craptacular Easter things I don't like and can't sell. I could literally pave my Springfield with ponds and Easter fences and other junk that I would have been fine with one or two of.

Agreed - the prizes themselves were good prizes.. Better than ones offered during other events. Problem was simply in the set up of how to win them. This is the first event where ive wanted all the prizes (except egg piles and those ugly trees). Heck even the ponds are more versatile and prettier than the valentine heart shaped ones.

Maybe that's why they made the prizes so hard to get.. Still give this event an F.

I thought it was very sub standard. One of the things i am not liking are the "spin to win" thing. Granted...i know it gives a bit of a chance factor but i end up getting TONS of stuff i already have.

The easter basket thing was ok but not enough of them. I think i got 3 during the whole thing and there was NO WAY would i pay 10 donuts for one. Also...They could have made golden eggs as a random drop from bunnies.

My biggest issue was my neighbors. Either they all stopped playing right before the update or they rarely play. Out of my 50+ neighbors...i got only 20 or so that i was able to get any eggs from their towns. I guess it's time to delete players and add new ones.

That's only one thing that would have made it less rage inducing. I have a long list of little changes that could have summed up to a good event. Don't have time to set it all out right now, since I have exams today, but maybe at some point I will.
    Anyway, I give it a D.

Outside the basket issues (empty, non-generating), and the high requirements for the prizes to come automatically - I thought the event was pretty solid. Certainly not the best event - but I had fun, and out of all the Holiday events, I think I visited the neighbor most during this one. Christmas and Halloween I had stopped after completing the personal prizes within the first 1.5 weeks or so - and would visit sporadically throughout the rest of the event. This event I went just about daily only missing a few days due to not having the time of day.

I say from an engaging aspect it was a success - kept players going through the end. I would still prefer the Whacking Day style events over one like this, but if they tuned up the style of this one - I'd still be open to it. Tuning would include either a higher return from neighbors (before diminishing), able to collect currency from handshakes, and making sure that the trading aspect is better. Either those things, or lower the cost of opening the box/wheel. Otherwise I think the system worked.

I am really frustrated with how many stupid ponds, fences, little eggs I got but I didn't get any of the characters. I don't know many eggs I worked to get or what I actually spent in sheer frustration to get the golden eggs and to have nothing out of it. So frustrated. I just wanted Sherry Bobbins so bad.

So frustrated....but not frustrated enough to stop playing so I guess they win in the end....damn...game....life destroyer.

Solid C. Good storyline and dialogue but poorly executed and odds were ridiculous.

Could have been an A for me if...

    Increase # of bunnies in-town.
    Increase # of basket drops.
Increase chance of getting faberge egg and not disable basket drops while searching. (Found in 4 days)
Remove bogus 250 egg option from boxes after finding prize.
Finally don't put 2 types of fences in the boxes. People overall hate the fences, 2 types felt like a slap in the face. One would have been fine for those that want fences but 2 was ridiculous.

    F

The reason I give it an F is cause it convinced me to try the The Family Guy game. Despite playing a couple times a day I realized I would never be able to get enough gold eggs, so the game lost the fun factor.

I have no clue if The Family Guy game will be any better, although currently it is fun not frustrating. Once a game becomes frustrating, it is time to give it a break.

Funny I started playing Family Guy too, but it's actually worse. I don't mind spending money on games but I don't like being forced to. Family Guy actually has it as a goal, really?

Not suprised to see so many F's. Sure the chance system can be annoying, but the rest of the event was still great. Really like most of the prices. Gave it a B myself

I am very disappointed in this event. Every other event in the past could be completed without spending a cent but this one was rigged as a money grab. And even then you weren't guaranteed the top prizes. If this is how they are going to be running future events I won't even waste my time or my money. I learned the hard way this event, well played EA.

I think more people need to post this.

Polls and threads complaining won't do anything. Customers leaving for a competitor will.
