Hang in there
Still lagging here (iPad), but I have no doubt they will fix it soon. I don't think I've ever seen the reviews take a nosedive like this on both the app stores -- it's about the only surefire way to make a company like EA start paying attention.

Man you really do seem to want to get up people's noses. People can't even get into their town's and many more are stuck with lag fest SF's. Just cause your town and device are Ok, doesn't mean everyone else is fine.
Sheesh
It does help a little, but not by much. I've noticed certain elements that are causing the lag
* In my town, i don't have maxed out decorations, but around my landing zone (what i assume is the original piece of land you have when you start the game). Move away from that area the lagging isn't so bad. Krustyland seems to work perfectly, no lag at all, smooth as a you know what
* In some neighbours towns who have lots of decorations, i can barely get the screen to move, this tends to either take ages to work, or crashes the game
These are just my experiences along with the constant connection loss to server while visiting neighbours
These issues did not exist before Easter, or during Easter for that matter - it seems an old glitch of some sort that EA fixed has somehow got back into the system of gameplay
Again, just my thoughts there from my own experience of playing since the update
I've noticed that Sideshow Bob keeps constantly popping up, and half the time I don't even know he's there, until I accidentally come across him, and tap on him to remove him. He even appeared in my KL. Makes me wonder if Sideshow Bob might have something do with some of the terrible lag. I've never seen him appearing so much before. I've also noticed he keeps appearing in a lot of friends towns, which always makes it even harder to move within the game at all.
One other thing I've noticed is the lag is really bad when you first enter friend's towns and have all the characters coming at you at once, because of how they wander around usually all coming out of one building at once, and once you move away from all that action, the lag improves quite a bit, so makes me think it's not so much about how many decorations people might have (though I do think this does effect it also), but maybe more to do with all the extra stuff now also going on in the background?
just a thought anyway.
Do you have any pics of this mountain?
Won't that slow down my friends when they visit ? That's at least half the reason I put them on tasks, and the only reason I put them on indoor tasks. Like the change they made not too long ago, valentines maybe, animates the characters for visitors in front of or around their indoor task location. One of the favorites I am using is Kearney dancing the jig on Grumple die cursing, indoor outdoor combo.

My point: if you're going to bust someone's chops, at least have the decency to use correct grammar.
+1
Haha!
People who point out grammatical errors are like sooo totally cool. It makes me like want to proofread stuff I type on my phone and be all professional like a English student. That's um super awesome and I luv it.
like AN English student........am I hot now, am I, am I????
If you still have lag, only visit friends on KL no lag there, so you can tap for the FP with no problems
For real. That guy doesn't even so a good job of trying to disguise his trolling. Plus he can't even use proper grammar in his trolling.
The lagging is making the game borderline unplayable. Combine it with just coming off the crummy Easter stuff and it seems like EA is actively trying to make people stop playing.
I play on a kindle and it didn't fix the lag for me. Storing all the characters, buildings and decorations besides Homer and the Simpson's house helps but not completely.
The after Easter issues were created intentionally by EA. All they need to do is release the pre-Easter game files with a few minor tweaks to fix the problems.
