who actually wants the monorail

Prev13
i'm a monorail proponent. i voted yes. if it were on an actual ballot, i would vote to approve. hell, i would have a sign on my lawn and window. lol.

it should be build out like roads on Squidport tiles. it would only run once of course but the animation would be sweet. anyway it's a novelty item, like the stairway to nowhere, popsicle stick tower, giant magnifying glass, etc. so of course it would be big, probably ugly and obstruct the view.

oh and it almost goes without saying - having Lyle Lanley would be awesome. (i had mentioned elsewhere that the game is in desperate need for a Phil Hartman character.)

    who actually wants it?

im a no because i just don't see it working with the game and don't think it would look good in the town considering monorails are elevated and it would just get in the way of other buildings.

not something i would build if it's a working one as much as i would want lyle lanley

I think it may have to be like the episode, where we build it up, but it actually fails and falls into disrepair. That would be part of the storyline. So we still end up with Lyle, and the station, with some pieces of track littered throughout the town. It would really help to go with an industrial section. And also with a post industrial west side, on the other side of the tracks, where the unfinished shed, Muntz house, broken down car, crashed UFO site, vandalized walls, and some brown houses could go. I would really like have this section developed more in my town. I am sure there are some other items that would go well here besides the ones I have mentioned. It would be a nice way to balance out the overall urban reality.

Absolutely, I can't wait until Crackhead Fred comes out, he's one of the most anticipated characters.

Actually, I would really like the Grifters to be released as characters, and come in and then we can have the grifter Homer and Bart skins. That would be awesome!!

I mean we already have the Hillbilly still with the shoeless pick pockets, so why not add some more of these shady characters?

I wouldn't mind the monorail, as long as they implemented it properly. Who knows tho, maybe we'll get it this summer.

if they make it a disaster after a little questline then it could be made a level update.. however if it's made into a expansion like squidport i see no way of it being implemented properly

Really do not want it as an expansion. As a decoration with the character: ok.

I understand wanting the monorail because the episode was so good, but I also have my doubts about how well it would work. I wouldn't want to build it like squidport, because we all know it shouldn't be functional anyway. Might be nice if the generic donut place used to stop it was released, though, since lard lad is premium. But yeah, I just don't know if it would work. I think the chilli cook-off that's been proposed around here would make for a better "summer event."

Yeah, why not. If it's here at least you have the option to build it. You can always decide not to if you dont like it.

I want it as a decoration. Just a crashed monorail car. As much as I would love Lyle Lanley I don't think we'll ever get a Phil Hartman character.

It can be functional as the old Springfield got destroyed at the beginning of the game and this is new Springfield.

Monorail would be cool but it should have been implemented much earlier. i don't want to have to completely redesign my town so i can figure out how to put track all over town.
Plus i would want it to have a track of some sort and not a small thing like the Springfield mall and call it the monorail.
I do think buying track sections like squidport would be the way to go as it gives you something to work towards.

Springfield can't have a working monorail it doesn't feel right especially for old time fans

your second point is one of the biggest reasons why it would be a huge pain in the **** to do now if they did release a working one, a complete redesign so it fits and doesn't make the town look ugly..

plus not sure about doing it like squidport that would take ages to build

Only if by "worked for a little while" you mean "sped out of control on its maiden voyage and nearly killed everyone on board before being halted by an improvised anchor in a giant donut." The monorail was never what I would call functional. Part of the whole plot was that Langley was a con man.

    I voted yes :D

Give us the monorail station that can only be built on the end of town (far right)
Put Springfield Gorge in the game and have the monorail go over it like in the opening for Exit Through the Kwik-E-Mart
    screebshots_11+copy.jpg

The other side of the gorge will be a whole new set of land.
Players who have most of their town full will only need a space for the monorail station. They can build the monorail tracks on the other side of the gorge.
Like with KrustyLand, taskless characters will automatically appear in whatever side of town you're on.
Unlike KrustyLand, all buildings, houses, etc can be moved to the other side of the gorge

I'm guessing it will be the monorail station with a piece of track. I can't see how they would make a full version work without serious lag/crashing issues.
