Garbage in Springfield

Prev1
Some people use them as part of their decorations, I for one don't & cleared it all away & got my donuts!

Its all personal preference :)

I have most of it cleared (except for the stuff in the land I haven't bought yet)...

I did keep some and scattered around my power plant.

You get Donuts when you clear everything? Cool. I still have some land to buy but that's cool.

    How many?

I cleared some of it, but I kept quite a bit. There are areas that look good with some junk scattered about, and it can't be bought, so I piled it on the edge of my town to use later.

I've read that it is a random probability, and very low at that. And that matches my experience. I forget what the probability is. Anyone remember?

I've been thinking of keeping some around Cletus's farm, as it fits what he is like on the show

I think I remember someone saying that the more you clear at one time, the better chance of getting more donuts. Idk if it's true but I've been placing all of my garbage around my leaning tower of sticks. Fingers crossed for whenever I do decide to clean it up!

I used this sites "Search" (which sucks and blows by the way) and found this old thread discussing donut drop rate from cleaning the garbage.

I have a nice garbage farm by the Nuclear Plant/Cooling Towers. I also leave a little in various spots around town to decorate certain areas or neighborhoods.
I use to clear and might of got 2-3 dounuts that way. You will get some but not a whole lot.

It's essentially a "limited" decoration. So once you clear it all, you'll never see it again. So a bunch of us keep it around since we'll never see it again. The donut drop rate is laughably low, so it's fun to keep a few of each around permanently. Those with mass amounts of it, probably didn't take the time to clear some of it out yet.

I prefer to just clear it out, it's in the way it isn't meant to be kept around for decoration.

One of my friends has the garbage that looks like a keg outside the brewery!

While the tutorial goes through that Lisa & Homer clean it up, it didn't register for me because of all the quests. It wasn't until a friend reminded me that they do & more hidden donuts. I was at level 28 & had collected it in one large space, so it opened up 2 land plots for me.

What is unusal for me is those that have hugh numbers of houses all bunched together. I understand the income tax dollars, though doesn't resemble any town that I know of.

Hi, my name is FarmerCyn, and I am a garbage piler.
I have heard of players getting as many as 25 donuts for all their garbage and as few as 3, but I have chosen to keep some of my garbage. In my main town, I have spelled hi and made a smiley face out of it. At Halloween I spelled boo, and at Christmas, I spelled Joyeux Noel. No, I'm not French, but it is shorter than Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or even Feliz Navidad. I like to use it as a tucked in decoration around building as a remembrance of the explosion. I don't think I will ever clean up all my garbage. I like the look of it.

I am guilty of doing that with houses, but I didn't have the money at the time to buy a bunch of land, so I wanted the income tax money and did what I had to do. Once I started getting a bunch of money saved up(plus not needing to build anything), I started purchasing land and am in the process of making it look like a neighborhood. I still need about 2 more land purchases to make it look good, but my land prices are now at $19k a pop, and I have to save to build 2 buildings now, so the land is on the back burner

I built a dump with walls and have my dump truck positioned such that it looks like it's pushing garbage into the dump. After this event, I'll rearrange and put the tire fire by the dump too. :)

I like the idea of using it as decoration, but since "clean up Springfield" is the top task for Lisa and Homer when there is debris around I know that I would just inevitably end up removing it without meaning to (which, if I was using it for decoration, I would be disappointed about). So I just cleaned it all up. I still have one more strip of land to buy, so far I've gotten about 7 donuts total from cleaning up.

Mostly removed all of mine long ago. I kept three pieces in Springfield. Some barrels for nuke plant, and two of those LP tank looking things for my "slum" neighborhood. KL I've virtually ignored, so I've just been piling it for removal or some strange use at a later date.

Cleared up most of mine too. When I got down to the end I kept maybe a dozen pieces which I used for decorations, mostly for the power plant. I also used a few pieces around Cletus's farm and the Muntz home.

I got few donuts for garbage clearing. I only used it as decorations for the times I was too lazy to sit there on 6 second tasks haha, I had let it pile up a little.
I have cleared it all however. At this point 2 plots of garbage is just too much land wasted for me.
I have had a friend however who was just way too lazy and has never done it. Her garbage is just all relocated to one spot.
I have been guilty of using garbage for decorations in krustyland but cleared that up to since I did some developments to make it a 5 star Krustyland
