While I agree that it's very possible to finish the event completely, you have to understand that some people not only have jobs, but also their own families, may need to work more than one job, they can have social lives off the grid. Not everyone has the time like I happen to have this past month to complete it.

That's a good reason for not finishing but a ridiculous reason for requesting an extension. If you don't have time to play you don't finish everything. That's how things work. Why anyone would think that being busy with other things would be a reason for an extension is beyond me. I guess in today's world where everybody has a voice on the internet people think they are entitled to asking for things.
While I understand and sympathize with those who could not complete the event, at the same time we knew exactly how long it would last, exactly how many emblems were needed, and even had multiple posts mapping out where our progress should be on specific dates. The devs also reduced the time for Number 1's tasks to fit people's schedules. Not sure what else you could possibly ask for. There would be no challenge at all to get everything if the event was extended. It's a game... games are meant to be challenging at times. The challenge was time management and it was more than fair. This event was a success and WAY better than wheels of random crap or any other type of chance event. If you didn't get everything with all the opportunities that were given, then you really didn't want it that bad in the first place. Again, I'm sorry for those who couldn't complete the rewards, but asking for an extension is basically asking for a handout.
I played almost every day, multiple times a day, tapped all 100 of my neighbours daily, got at least 3 of the 4 tasks daily, completed all the riddles, tapped hundreds if the order

While I personally understand and resect this, I've never heard of a video game or a video game company that has ever gone out of their own way, to respect someone's busy schedule, especially for something as trivial as getting a table and a satanic phallic mountain. If schedules are that busy, maybe trying so hard to be a completionist is not that good of an idea.
My game crashed on the 22nd and the only way they could fix it was to roll my game back to the 15th. Lost all the emblems I got in between and they wouldn't refund them - one extra day will allow me to get the table
You should complain to EA and ask them to give you the table and anvil, as you would have earned them had the game not crashed. It wouldn't cost them anything -- their job is to make sure you continue to play (and spend money...).

But hey I managed to pass all my finials so no summer school for me but either way here's what I dont get. Why would you want this event to end? I mean does it affect you in any way? Its not going to push back any updates. No one is making you tap on emblems. Plus if you did you still get doughnuts for it. I mean like really just because you cleared it doesn't mean you have to hate on us who did not have time to finish it.If this event was any other time I would of cleared it and guess what I would want it extended for people who could not clear it. So ya in my opinion we should all want this event extended because it only helps players and does not hurt them at all.
Actually YES it will interfere with an update. We always get a 4th of July update, and while it may be a short one, it is still a new one.
How will it interfere with an update, we get them all the time during events like the last level update.
We had (1) 4th of July event 6/28/13. That's 1 event out of 2 years, and if we get 1 this year it will be 2/3. So yea we always get them.

They've done it before level 38 we had the Christmas removal update and then the level update. Easter we had the removal update then the season finale episode tie in update

Oh look we got a 4th update (2 out of 3 so yea not always) and it didn't interfere with the stonecutter update.
So it look like someone was "always" wrong 2/2 just giving you a hard time.
I only finishe last night, school, jobs etc make it hard.
It isn't unreasonable to say can I have a couple of days for a shot at some donuts as I wasn't able to completely alter my sleepin pattern as I couldn't do number 1 tasks in school.
I hope the event is extended till Friday I should have anvill by then. I should have finished awhile ago but my internet was not on for two weeks so I couldn't play as often as I would have liked. And a couple 400 task fell into the time I couldn't play. Plus a friend who looks after my Springfield while I can't decided to be unreliable

I honestly don't see how anyone could NOT finish with the prizes. You can actually get all 35,000 emblems WITHOUT EVEN HAVING A SINGLE FREIND. Here is a very simple breakdown of a very long post I wrote a while back
This is based on the 29 days you had to complete the event
Number 1 tasks - 1000 per day for 29 days = 29,000
19 stonecutters (skins that give you tasks) with each a task you get 100 = 1,900 (30,900 total)
robed guys in town, 20 per day at 3 emblems each or 60 per day = 1,740 (32,640 total)
Chest gives you 20 emblems 3x a day for 60 = 1,740 (34,380 total)
Sacred Parchment is 50 emblems each for completed one of which there are 24 = 1,200 (35,580 total)
Then you have the quest line which also gives emblems (not sure exact amount)
And all of this is BEFORE you have any friend visits OR you visiting friends. Even if you had 20 friends, and they each tapped all 3 of your buildings, that would be 15 emblems each (you have a 2 hour window to collect for max emblems) that would be a total of 300 potential emblems a day which multiplied by 29 is 8,700 (making the potential with the above amount 44,280)
This is why I simply cannot understand how any player that plays halfway regular could not have completed the event, or is sitting really low on emblems other than them not playing due to vacation, connection issues, or emergency.
Even if you missed some of the #1 tasks and had friends visiting your town as you can PLAINLY see, there is no reason other than laziness that anyone could not have completed the prizes. I personally finished with 14 days left and am currently sitting at close to 71,000 emblems, which is enough to finish the event TWICE. The last week or so I only checked in while doing the tasks for #1 and collected emblems from friend visits then and mostly getting 1-2 emblems from visits as to where in the beginning I would check every 2 hours during the day (and if I was sleeping when my alarm went off to finish the #1 tasks).
I finished EVERY #1 task from the beginning, and it wasn't too hard. You just had to commit to it and set an alarm here or there to make sure they were finished on time.
You assume that no one has a life outside of this game. I have a job I have to go to 5 days a week.

But of my 100 friends, only 45% got 35,000 or more. For whatever reasons.
