When would you consider it a good time to redesign your SF?

Id do it in between Events.. you most likely got plenty of time after July 16th when this Event ends.

Thank you for your input. another problem of mine is that I've been growing corn since the day the Easter event ended, so the nuke button won't be an option unless I'm willing to spend the doughnuts to speed things up. Have you ever done a redesign yourself? If so, how long did it take you?

I'm happy with my town, I won't do a complete makeover total redesign.

Only minor changes after each new update to reallocate precious space to accommodate the new buildings and stuff.

You do NOT need to use donuts to speed it up unless you want the cash payout. IF you're willing to forfeit that time since the day after easter that you've been taking to nurture the corn, then STORE THE FARM. That will cancel the corn crop. As I said, you won't get any money for growing that corn, but at least you don't need to use donuts to finish the task.

You'll get the message "Cletus will be stored with the farm." You'll find the farm (and Cletus) in storage.

If it is like last year, you have plenty of time to redesign. There really wasn't any big events between 4th of July and Halloween, so you could wait for your corn to grow and then redesign. I plan on nuking as soon as my corn and Brandine is done in about 34 days. It takes me awhile to get things sorted, so I like to have time to move things around.

I did parts of my town all throughout. I never did a full redesign, reasoning that I liked some parts. Though, those ended up being redesigned as well. This allowed me to redesign whenever, regardless of events. In fact, my biggest changes came with the Stonecutters event. I was going to crowd it away but I got so inspired by the designs in showcase iI complete cleared away sections and changed a good part of my town from what it was.

I wouldn't do a full redesign unless you have a good idea of what you're going for. Good luck and have fun!

I'm not sure what I want to do yet to be honest. I was thinking of moving around things, but I do need to create a lot more space. Buying all the Stonecutters stuff kind of messed up the layout I had.

I have 35 days for the corn to grow, and I kind of do want the payout. I'm so indecisive.

I think that's exactly what I'm going to do, thank you.

Few quick redesign tips and i just finished. (Check out my post in the showcase here: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/10122173.page)

    1. Get all the land so you can put what you want where you want.
    2. Work in sections rather than from a clean slate. Store stuff as it's in your way. Renovate onky a neighborhood or city block at a time.
    3. Place buildings, then road and pavement, then fine tune the bldgs.
    4. Decorate absolutely last, so you don't have to move things twice.
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

I've been wanting to change my town around, but due to all the events that have been going on lately I haven't brought myself to switch up things just yet. I really, really want to test out that nuke button though. Do you guys think I should just go for it before a Halloween update comes, or some other event?

Listen to your heart and you will never regret a redesign. Good luck, and happy tapping!

You are far more braver than myself. I've pushed the nuke button twice, but couldn't go all the way through with it.

The ONLY time when I would do a TOTAL re-design is if you have cash for ALL the land, ALL the buildings you want, and an extra 3-5 MILLION to spend on fences/flowers/decorations/etc.

I recently re-did my entire town ) about 2-3 months ago, and I had just finished purchasing all the land. At that time I also purchased a boatload of donuts (to finish buying the last of the premium items I needed) and made sure I had PLENTY of time.

My re-design was a TOTAL shift from how it was set up before and I didn't have the luxury of the Nuke button as we do now. It took me around 8-9 HOURS to shift/move/place everything and get it close to what I wanted. The next day I spent about 2-3 hours "fine-tuning" things to make it look a little better.

We just nuked my wife's town in order to get the Hospital to build and to re-design her town it only took 4-5 hours (time saved by having the nuke button) and it worked GREAT.

Also as others have posted right after this event would be an EXCELLENT time as I don't see any events happening any time soon.

I just finished up my third redesign since stonecutters ended. I liked the first redesign, but after a couple days, I thought I could do better, so I nuked it again, and that one, I never finished as I started hating it halfway through. This time, I decided how I wanted it to look and did a section at a time, and although it's cramped, I used half the amount of space I used the other 2 times and just need to go through and add the decorations into it.

The nuke button really saves a lot of time
