Totally agree. I rarely visit my neighbors KL's because it just takes so long to either go out to the menu and into their KL or search around their SF for the KL Shuttle.

After completing the recent quest line I do not see myself going to KL. I do not like it.

Since we have to tap to continue anyway when starting up the game, they could just change that screen and have 2 buttons to tap either Springfield or Krustyland. They could even make the Springfield button really big, and put a tiny Krustyland button in the top corner, if most people don't really like Krustyland.
