I don't have an accurate amount I get every morning as I go on numerous times at god knows what hour due to my trouble of sleeping. I probably get a total of between 5-10,000 elixir and the gold varies so not too sure.
I'm at almost 30,000 gold, and my strategy is to visit random Springfield's, and send 1 nerd to attack 1 castle and move on to the next town. I only attack if they have a castle ready, and I only send 1 to attack in total to their town. I, at the moment, get 60 nerds every 2 hours, so that is a minimum of 600, and maximum of 8,400 in one round (of 60). I probably win about a quarter of my attacks, and I also can visit a few times before I go to bed, but when it is really early in the morning (when wake up, a lot). I don't send nerds out as I want to try get sleep. My strategy is working really well, and I should get the 9th prize by tomorrow morning, and the final prize with in a few days.

I just sent out 40-something nerds from my second town. Random towns only, castles only, 1 nerd per castle.

Yeah I don't expect a high ROI. In fact if a town has 2 or 3 castles, or even a well-developed single castle, chances are that's a regular player so don't expect success.

A low-level town with just the first basic castle? Better chance of winning.

Still, I wasn't being that choosy, so 1 nerd per castle regardless of how the town looked was what it was.

Excellent work! Sorry about your sleeping issue. BTDT

Today I am trying a new strategy. Until now I was taking the nerds I had and putting one in each neighbor's town until I ran out of time. It worked well as far as elixir returns, but it was hard to keep track of, and I was hitting 5 nerds per town anyway.

So today I am going through my neighbors and dropping off 5 at a time, and doing the 3 regular actions only if I was able to complete the attacks. So, now I can tell just by looking where I have been and where I haven't been, which is saving time.

If I could store unlimited nerds, I would hit everyone at night, but I can't.

I am saving red dice and any extra nerds for random towns. I know the payoffs are higher in random towns, but I like being able to help my neighbors and they are being quite good to me in turn. :-) As my Latin teacher would say, "Manus manum lavat," one hand washes the other...

Wow!! How do you have time to do just one nerd per Springfield? That's a lot of loading! Still... I'm tempted to try... Darn you! Lol

I have no life. I mean, I do, but it's all pretty flexible. I can do a lot of nerd-dropping during setting the kids' homeschooling stuff up, and diaper changes, and getting food distributed.

I'm currently getting 35 nerds per two hours, may I note, so this is probably better suited for players getting more nerds. When I attack random people, I have a look at their castle. If it's on the progress of being destroyed, say has 8-9 hours left I'll send between 2-5 nerds depending on how many horses are available and how many are already being attacked. If I visit a town with the castle not being attacked, I'll send one nerd to attack it. from the first wave I've received around 850 I think elixir, and that's one round, bare in mind I sent at least 5 waves out today.

Note, just received another 540 elixir.
You can attack horses in this game?!?!?

I've been doing pretty well sending the majority of my nerds to neighbor towns but I'm not getting anywhere near those incredible random town numbers. Still I expect to finish the event early, not just this week.
