Why do I have to spend donuts to finish my clash of clones castles? EA has become to greedy!

Prev1
You can still get walls for free by upgrading your castles. But I do agree it will take a while to level up so I think that walls should of been elixirs and not doughnuts.

EA is a business and they make money from people buying donuts, that's why.

They give you a way to get them without donuts though, which seems rather un-greedy.

That being said, it could be much worse, like "Ferrari Enzo in Real Racing 3" worse.

Honestly, now that I play two tap games--one of which is made my TinyCo--very little that EA does seems greedy anymore.

If push came to shove, I'll probably shell out for a few walls at the end of the event, as 2 donuts apiece isn't too bad. The other castle pieces are highway robbery, though.

You don't have to use donuts to get more castle upgrades ... after a point. I believe that once you've upgraded each castle to lvl 10, then you can use elixir to buy the parts.

Yeah the walls aren't too bad, but I wish the towers/gates would at least come with a small multiplier

I'm not sure about that. My castles are at level 12 or 13 and both the recycled castle and the cardboard castle pieces still require donuts. The original castle parts can be bought with elixir but that's always been the case.

Hilarious hearing people talk about greed when all they want is things for free.

Do you sometimes read the things you say?

As Steven Wright (a comedian) once said, "You can't have everything. Where would you put it?" :)

Seriously, I do agree with you, for the most part. I see a lot of complaints because people can't get what they want, and feel they deserve. This is a video game, and no game is meant to give you everything without some effort being put into it.

As a side note, those who complain that they missed a specific item and are very upset about it.... The reason that there are time limited items are to give people something special that others may not have. And with the limited land, I point you to quote at the start of my reply. :)

Take a deep breath and repeat after me:
    It is only a game.
    It is only a game.
    It is only. A. Game.

I plan to get creative. Either making walls out of other things, or putting the keeps behind a single front and two sides. You could also back it up to the hills and do away with having walls on the back.

Same here - the recycling castle especially lends itself to this (chain link fence, graffiti walls, etc). No need to spend donuts unless you want.

Moreover, not sure how much castle I really want in SF when all is said and done.

I don't plan on keeping the recycled castle or the box castle in my town when the event is over, so I have no issue with needing donuts to upgrade them. I also realize that I don't need donuts to upgrade them.

Castle Recycle is pretty easy to finish without spending donuts. Just get some concrete walls and other items and build a castle with it.

Boxingham Palace is kinda hard. Honestly I can't use any items for walls.

This is the 1st event where I didn't feel EA was being greedy.

Try the plain brown fences. I "finished" mine with those two high and a few strategically placed trees to hide the gaps.

To the op's point, there's very little I feel the need to buy with donuts in this event compared to anything over the last year. You should just stop playing now before Halloween hits. I'm thinking it'll take most of a boatload for noobs to buy all the stuff they are going to release.

This game was great when it started but now I fell greed has consumed the developers. I spent hours playing to build my game of clones castles and I come to find out all that work was for nothing. I have to spend my hard earned money to buy walls to finish my castle. At first donuts were a option for premium items. But now more and more it had become a tool for this sneaky game of making you earn something and to finish it you have to pay money. I started playing and recommending this game to all my friends but more and more fall off because they feel it's been getting boring and anything they want they have to pay money for. I understand they need to make money and the premium items worked. I have bought a lot of thigs over the years. But this is the straw that broke the camels back for me. I am so mad they are so greedy now things I worked hours on I cannot finish now with out spending money. Shame on you EA it's bad enough this game has so many glitches but now you just straight up became less about the love of the game and more about squeezing more and more money out of your loyal fans.

I was able to build all of my castles without donuts.

Of course they are very small.

If you thought you were going to build any size castle you wanted, for free, then it's YOUR EXPECTATIONS that need to be adjusted.

It's no different than the entire town of SF. Some is free but all is not. If you want the full SF, you pay real money. Don't act like you didn't know this is how they do it.

This is why I've never bought donuts. EA says, "In for a penny, in for a pound?" Then I choose to keep my pennies.
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

I put my castles on the school grounds. Using existing fences and walls supplemented the castle. Kind of like how kids would do it anyway. People get stuck on following a preconceived design of a castle, with a wall around a center building. Work with what you have!
