Well this clearly isn't directed at you, then.

That's ok. If it's true, that makes me curious why people are offended by it.

Fair enough, Neuro. You make a good point. I didn't recall that stuff from Easter until you posted it.

I guess they're making it a habit now. Like I said above, we hate them and they hate us. It's a match made in Simpsons heaven.

TSTO has been poking fun at the freemium game format since the very beginning. Did anyone actually pay attention to the opening video?

    None of this is new.

Um... There wasn't an opening video when I started playing this game about 2 years ago...

What!? The dialogue is hilarious! Maybe I'm just easily amused, though...

The line that got me was Lenny's deadpan (at least, I read it as deadpan) line about Elixer, "Plus you can use it to upgrade stuff, if I understand this nonsense correctly. "

Also, Homer's ranting about noobs limiting the use of higher-level-unlock characters was funny. NOOOOOOOOBS!

The humour might not be for everyone, I guess. But I like it. :)

Gotta agree. I feel like they're trying to be clever by pointing out how pointless the game is.

well said, and the "upgrades" dialogue, dont even get me started on that.

I found the sizzurp thing to be dumb too. I think im getting old (turning 25 in 2 weeks haha)

glad to hear im not the only one that thinks the dialogue is a complete joke.

I've found the dialog for this event pretty funny -- especially the lines about the "non-addictive" purple elixer -- but then again I'm easily amused.

The dialogue points out how the Easter event relates to the tedious or expensive ways to actually get fences in this event. There has to be a middle ground for getting fences. I am not a fan of the dialogue. Also there is a lot of it....

I find most of the dialog hilarious also. I also particularly liked the nooobs stuff since I'm playing a B-Town that is low level. Fortunately I already had Marge. The task with Nelson, who I didn't have at the time, could be done anyway.

The dialogue from Burns is over the top, but true, and fits this attack/defense event in the way that trying some strategies becomes an "I know that you know that I know..." thing.

I find it absolutely hilarious that someone gets offended by text in a mobile game.

The dialogue is always HILARIOUS and very clever.

Breaking the fourth wall, stereotypes, sarcasm and self-roasting is exactly my type of humour.

The fact that dialogue intended to joke about something or someone upsets proves their point.

I think it's great. These forums are filled with whiny babies complaining over and over again about EA, and then when the game calls them out, it's "annoying" and "cocky."

Don't dish it out if you can't take it.

Sure there is. Easter happened. (much as we'd like to forget it)

Easter dialogue did not suck. Honestly, I do hate this event more than easter.

I already begged to differ on that. Easter dialogue did suck and was more insulting than anything I've seen this event.

I thought we reached this point already, where the Simpsons will continue to poke at just about everything.

They've been making fun of the players for a long while. Seriously have you guys not read the level up messages? "Surprised people are still playing" "Maybe you shouldn't have spend all that time on this" type of messages.

Then many people complaining about the dialogue for Herman's, Rich Texan and others. They literally try to target a lot of groups, and now they are back to targeting us.

I found nothing offensive, and I actually quite enjoyed most of the dialogue for this event. While not all of it was humorous, I still enjoyed it.

Plenty of question about that. Mostly because it isn't true. (As Neuro correctly pointed out: Easter.)

The willingness to explain exactly how the model of the game you are currently playing fails is damn brave. Nobody can every say they are unaware of the potential pitfalls.

Ultimately, it ends with a message to spend more time with loved ones and that read as sincere to me.

I just wish there was less dialogue acknowledging they are in a game and more "Simpsons" dialogue, if that makes sense. Marge berating Homer for something dumb he did, Flanders being annoyingly over pleasant, those kind of things. I might be misremembering but even Easter wasn't solely based on the notion of breaking the barrier between player and game this badly.

I never said I was offended, nor was I insulted. it takes a LOT more than that to insult the average guy. pretty pathetic if a game dialogue offends someone.

I said it was stupid, not funny, and its annoying. theyre trying way too hard to be witty and its painfully obvious.

like I said, they are being way overly cocky, the "Surprised people are still playing" "Maybe you shouldn't have spend all that time on this" dialogues were pretty cocky already, but this new clash of clans update is a complete joke as far as dialogue goes.

"filler" is what comes to mind. pure garbage writing just to keep us busy for 3 seconds, nothing relevant or intelligent ever written. the barbarian humor is stupid, the repetitiveness is stupid, and the upgrade dialogues are annoying and not funny.

the devs couldnt think of anything smart or funny to put so they just put garbage about "nnnoooooobbbssss" and "upgrades" "upgrades" etc...

just find it very annoying and stupid is all, apparently im not the only one.

I just got "offended" when they said "you should buy a console game instead", only because I've bought my 360 and haven't got a retaik game due to purchasing the lastest Gil deals... D'oh!
