Most of what was said could have been a copy/paste of many many many posts on this very forum. If we don't like what the game dialogue is saying, why do we jump on the bandwagon if the same sentiment is voiced by a forum member? Don't we constantly talk about how much more successful the other games are?

Don't we constantly complain about the ripoffs? Are you mad because they AGREE with us? Why? Wouldn't you be madder if they were saying that prices of their stuff is low? Or if they started saying that the competition games suck?

At least they hear what we're saying.

And I totally lol'd at Homer's "And don't get me started about the (EXPLETIVE DELETED) Easter fences!"

    Exactly this ^^^

The way I see it is that for those of us here on the forum, we see these same comments many many times repeated with all kinds of different attitudes. For those that do not come here, and who have not witnessed the back and forth that goes on here, those lines may be quite funny, or even enlightening.

And I also see it as nod to us here that they do pay attention. Whether or not it affects anything is another discussion, but clearly they are aware of what goes on here.

I thought we reached this point already, where the Simpsons will continue to poke at just about everything.

They've been making fun of the players for a long while. Seriously have you guys not read the level up messages? "Surprised people are still playing" "Maybe you shouldn't have spend all that time on this" type of messages.

Then many people complaining about the dialogue for Herman's, Rich Texan and others. They literally try to target a lot of groups, and now they are back to targeting us.

I found nothing offensive, and I actually quite enjoyed most of the dialogue for this event. While not all of it was humorous, I still enjoyed it.

In complete agreement w/these two 8)

The way I see it is this is a parody of clash of clans. Which from what I played of that game is the epitome of the words of mr burns dialog referenced in the thread here. The game is literally designed to try your patience so you will pay to speed things up, pay to get all your soldiers back, pay for this pay for that etc. It is rediculous. If you think the amount of premium costing stuff in TSTO is bad that game is 100 times worse from what I could see. So much so that after a couple weeks of playing I gave up because of the constant obvious drive of the game to may you pay to win. On the other hand a much better designed version of that game is found in castle clash. Where at least the player who doesn't want to spend much or nothing at all can earn premium currency at a decent enough pace from game play to use for the more patience trying moments of the game. So that you are spending money on the gam because you want to help pay for it rather feeling roped into paying to win. I honestly have found much of the dialog mildly amusing. Not the best simpsons material and not the best I have seen in the game to date but I don't think it is horrible.

I just got the text you're talking about at the end of the quest line and yeah, it ticked me off a little.

I've read the dialogue in LPs thread because I'm only doing the first quest with burns now to see what the deal was and I have to say, they sure know how to rub it in. This is another great case of them watching what's going on on the forum. It was their way of saying if you don't like it then **** in a polite way. At least the acknowledged the fact that console games are better at the whole bang for your buck aspect of gaming.

The lesson here is they hear everyone complaining about high prices and the absurdity of paying hundreds of dollars for a small app based game but they simply don't care and will continue to do what they do because the players don't have the balls to boycott this game because of everyone's clear addiction to this game. Yay for us!

Congrats EA. You made us the punch line of your joke. Good thing I didn't fall for this and didn't spend a dime in this game  maybe when pricing becomes more reasonable like they've suggested as far as console games go I'll think of spending money on this game but until then I don't have any intensions of becoming the punch line.

Exactly, it's my type of humour as well.

I really don't find it offensive. After all, it is the truth what they're saying (about the freemium mode, addiction and annoying pastel *****ing fences), so you'd actually be ignorant to be offended.

That said, I think the dialogue is definitely written in a different style than the actual Simpsons show itself and if you expect the show to be 1 on 1 the same as Tapped Out this could be a disappointment for you.

While I did find some of it funny, as I said above, I also think EA is perhaps sending us a message similar to the one Roger Meyers Jr sent Marge in the episode "Itchy and Scratchy and Marge". Applied to TSTO and ****, this would come back from EA to the relatively small group on this forum perhaps like this...

EA: [in response to forum complaints] Dear valued tapper, thank you for taking an interest in Tapped Out. Enclosed is a gift of 30 donuts to add to your collection. In regards to your specific comments about the game, our research shows that one small group cannot make a difference, no matter how big a collection of screwballs they are, so let me close by saying, * you and the horse you rode in on.

does anyone else find the dialogue very annoying, like theyre trying way too hard to be funny and are also being very cocky. especially with the mr burns part where they explain how the freemium works, get us addicted then force us to spend premium currency.... is that supposed to be funny? I find the dialogue for this event very annoying and very stupid. not funny one bit, pure stupid.

I cant be the only one.

 I was not offended by anything other than lack of creativity and useful dialogue. The entire storyline is boooooooooring and it just gets more intolerable having to basically read the same plot (players will do whatever we say) for 23 parts that I almost wish there hadn't been an update.

For those saying the show isn't funny anymore you probably haven't seen it. Last season was really strong. Matter a fact the NYT readers poll listed married to the blob among the the top all time episodes.

I don't usually complain, but no I am not liking the dialogue and finding the event rather ho-hum. (But still better that Easter or Whacking Day)

...yup yup; am right w/you & quite frankly I find that the entire show quality (not to mentioned outstanding HD animation) as well as TSTO have both consistently elevated every single year to date 8)

Ditto... and sort of had me thinking another silly off the cuff teaser/cameo by Bender or Fry might pop in on the dialogue again w/ "Hey, did someone mention SLURM?!?"

I never have liked the dialog in the game much anyways. It seems so much snarkier for the sake of being sarcastic but in kind of a snide way, i.e. not funny. I guess it never felt like the tone of the writers who wrote all the shows I remembered. OR it IS like the tone of the show currently. I try to watch them, especially during the tie-in-episodes so I know what the heck the premium items are representing or referring too. but I just cannot get into the show when I watch them. I can watch seasons 1-12ish non-stop. anything past that I only can find a few here and there that I find very funny.

None of that really offended me because I personally think a lot it is true.

But the truth isn't funny to begin with so why would it be funny if EA take the p*** out of the consumer about legitimate concerns.
Personally i think EA are robbing us, they talk about exchanging money for goods, but none of us own a copy of this game so if EA shuts down the servers we are left with nothing, because it's an always online game, and £15 for an image of a whale if that's not outrageous pricing i don't know what is, i guess EA think we all get pay'd wages like they do.
