Personally i think EA are robbing us, they talk about exchanging money for goods, but none of us own a copy of this game so if EA shuts down the servers we are left with nothing, because it's an always online game, and £15 for an image of a whale if that's not outrageous pricing i don't know what is, i guess EA think we all get pay'd wages like they do.

Nobody's holding a gun to your head. If you don't like the value that EA delivers for the prices you pay, don't pay them!

None of that really offended me because I personally think a lot it is true.

But the truth isn't funny to begin with so why would it be funny if EA take the p*** out of the consumer about legitimate concerns.

Is this a serious post? EA is robbing us? Then don't pay. If you choose to pay then you shouldn't complain about it.

I treat the game like a consumable item. If it shuts down and is not playable anymore then I'll move on with no regrets.

And the only way a whale is making it into my town is if one swims over from some other SF! :)

    Wow.

You have got to be kidding. Anyone taking offense to what Simpsons say need to go play candy crush and stick to all things non political/controversial or you might get a feeling bruised.

The show has always had a leftist slant, always been slightly crude, and always made jokes for the sake of the joke alone. Not as extreme as FG, but still. Last night i heard Wiggam refer to a black eye as an Irish kiss. I'm Irish, have never hit a woman, and that joke is hilarious.

This particular event is mocking the popularity of mobile games and their obsessive users who complain about them constantly (clearly illustrated on this forum) yet keep on playing.... And forking out cash.

It makes a counter point that sure, you could hack to steal premium currency, which is only virtual; but then EA could retaliate by deleting your game progress and essentially wasting the TIME WE INVESTED playing. So hack at your own risk.

It makes a point that at least their game has significant free play time, vs some games which focus on premium purchase coercion even more.

And finally it says we should be spending our time with people rather than playing video games. Which is the truth.

Now i hear jack Nicholson screaming at you whiners: YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!

Don't forget the Simpsons writers are NOT EA. They will mock us for being such WILLING victims to game distributor business models.

If you can't laugh at yourself for such behavior, i can only sympathize.

I'VE found this event dialog to be c classic Simpsons, very ironic, very true, and very funny, regardless of how much the joke is on ME.

P.s. glad to read some others here also "get it". True Simpsons fans vs. players of the latest trendy game i guess.
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

I was going to respond to this thread, but can't state my opinion better than this did. After being a forum regular here and seeing so many people complain about a free game that nobody is forcing them to play or to spend money to play, I have found the dialogue to be very apt and very funny.

I agree that no one is forcing you to pay, buy that doesn't mean EA is above criticism. Personally I wish the freemium model would go away. Though I have been guilty of spending too much and need to stop and back up my view.

Thankyou I thought it was only me, I'm finding the whole event incredibly boring. Maybe I just don't get it, I've actually enjoyed the last few events, even Christmas, Easter, valentines day and the stone cutters. Ahh the anticipation of getting something great from the wheel or opening a box.

But this feels pointless, 3 ugly buildings which will be ending up in permanent storage. Constantly upgrading for even uglier buildings, it's ruined a great game. The dialogue probably sounded funny when they were putting the game together, but for players it's too long, insulting in places for players who've continued to stick with it and yes I do find I tap through it really fast to get it over with.

I'm still playing in the hope it's going to get better, but to be honest I'm not feeling any love towards it, nor the addiction I've had with previous updates.

Good luck to everyone playing and enjoying this update, but honestly EA what were you thinking, and this pain will go on till October. Hopefully Halloween will be great, please, please issue an update for that one.
