I'm beginning to wonder if there will be anything left. It seems the writers of this event have done their best to make us feel bad for wasting our time playing and ,(having just finished our tap your thoughts away tas), that they wish we would go away and live our lives. Or am I being overly sensitive? It has certainly taken some of the enjoyment out of playing for me.
Maybe at Halloween we'll get Dracula's Castle, Castle Frankenstein, Haunted Castle... whatever they throw at us, I think the castles will look great covered in snow (when we get the Snow Queen/Narnia unrelated tie-in with more castles).

The fact your upset by it proves their point. It's a * game. You're not being forced to play it, or pay for it or do anything related to it. And yet people whine when they choose to spend money on a free to play game, usually complaining about things that are their fault.

That depends on IF they leave us with the castles in the first place. I haven't decided what to do with them yet. But I am seriously getting bored with this now and with 22 days still to go as I write this post it is getting beyond a joke.
Of course we get to keep the castles. That is not even a doubt about that.
I think the event is crazy fun (probably one of the most convoluted to ever appear in this game) but the castles are indeed a bit ugly and all over the place. Boxingham is part of the springfield lore so that's pretty ok I guess, and if they give money I don't see why we should hide them... just build your buildings a bit close to eachother so you don't have to scroll too much (I know I do :P my city looks like hong kong).
I've set up a nice moated area for the Barbarian Castle and I'll likely keep Boxingham up as well, but I don't anticipate keeping the Recycle Castle up past the event. If it generates money (I assume it will), I'll tuck it out of the way someplace, but with the towers and walls in storage.
I honestly don't get the animosity this event is generating. For the most part, people are bored and finished with the quest line because they purposefully and consciously exploited a glitch. I'm afraid I don't have a lot of sympathy for someone who cheats at a game and then complains it's over too quickly. I have a bit more understanding for people who think the story was too un-Simpsons like. To them I would simply say "See you on October 7. Go read a book."
I'm not sure what I'll do with the castles. I'm probably going to leave the main castle because I have a nice design around it but the other 2 are like sore thumbs in my town. To be honest they should've gave a bit more land then they did for this event. To place 3 castles in the right places with the land and the amount of buildings we had was quiet a challenge in my opinion.
With that said if they do release more land soon I seriously hope they don't have such ludicrous prices. I mean I get some people have millions, but those people are the minority. I don't even have that much to spend only on land, and I'm a little shy of 10 million.
I'm personally just waiting for the Halloween event. I'm really hoping it's. As good as the last two Halloween events, which I'd say almost everyone loved. I can't wait for it!
I will remove all walls from the kid's castles, and put them in a small enclosure of the barbarian castle walls with the barbarian castle so I'll earn from them. Decos will be kept out, especially the ones that help my bonus.
So it'll mostly all stay, but be shrunk down to save space.
I've made each castle its own section, so will probably just leave them as they are, but depending if we get a Halloween event then i may have to tear them down to fit in the new Halloween stuff

I still don't understand how people were supposed to avoid the glitch. And how come it hasn't been corrected?
People can read books or do any number of things. When people say they are bored it doesn't mean they are sitting around staring at a wall waiting for new TSTO content to come out. They are commenting that within the game they are not finding anything interesting to do. With this event, even if there was no glitch the story, gameplay and the prizes made it something I don't think I would have been willing to grind out.
