Can't play on kindle fire hdx (and my ipod touch)
Both say "can't connect to server" and MAYBE it'll work if I try again    , but it doesn't and occasionally it will kick me out back to the home screen. Had this throughout the stonecutters update but the halloween update made it far worse.

Edit: I get a bit of lag on a football (soccer) game I play, but TSTO is the only game that is giving me this trouble. Even Fifa 14 (also on Origin) is not giving me grief.
If it doesn't work on android and Ios, it shouldn't be a device specific problem. But contact EA.

Contacted EA, but yesterday i tried with my Ipod and it worked for a while, then decided to visit friends and guess what...it crashed.

There is a troubleshooting page specifically for Andoid. This may not solve every problem, but its worth a shot:
    http://help.ea.com/en/article/troubleshooting-steps-for-android/

    Android Bugs

Frozen at loading screen during update installation process, won't start
    Galaxy Note 4.4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4 4.4.2, Galaxy Tab 3

Crashes before entering game, cannot access my town
    Galaxy S5 4.4.4, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 4.4 + 4.3 + 4.4.2, Kindle, US HUAWEI T-Mobile myTouch Q

Recognizes username and level at load screen, but starts game from the beginning tutorial
    Galaxy S3 4.4
    Reccomended: Reinstall the game app.

    Frequent Crashing
    Galaxy S3 4.4.2, Galaxy Tab4 4.4, Galaxy S5 4.4.2, Galaxy Tab3 4.4.2, HTC One M8 4.4.3, Motorola xOOM2
Recommended: Remove friend requests, and clear cache from your application settings.

Larger text and icons blocking most of screen
    Nexus 7 4.4, Lenovo Yoga tablet 60047 4.2, Lenovo A10-70 4.2

Can't send friend invites, incorrect message saying friends list is full
    Galaxy Tab4 4.4, Galaxy S5, Moto G 4.4

Nothing to tap in friends town, even though it says actions ar available
This may be due to your friend lot playing the game since the event started.

    I'm running on my Galaxy S3, 4.4...

I was having the same problem that a few users in this thread have mentioned: namely, login at the load screen level being recognised, eternal loop with the opening cutscenes, aaaaannnd back to level 1 (ugh!).

Tried logging out and then in again to no avail, but a complete uninstall of the app and reinstall has me back in my town. Hopefully that will fix it for others too. I did have to do the whole 'You logged in on another device and didn't save, are you sure you want to continue?' rigmarole, but clicking through that got me to my Springfield just fine.

Now to see if it has had any impact at all on the constant crashing that I was getting too!

It appears that there is a new version available for download, 4.11.1. Still not compatible with BlackBerry z10, but might improve the Android experience.

Come to think of it I believe I've used the same method to fix this problem as well in the past. I'll add that as a recommended course of user action.

My game worked fine right after the update, but lately it crashes when I try to start the game.

    Using a LG Optimus G, Android-version 4.4.2

Edit: Saw the update now, will try it.

Samsung S4 mini (android version 4.4.2)

I have been have issues logging into the game for the last 4 days. I usually log in several times a day but everytime I do for the last 4 days it has either crashed immediately or lets me get to my Springfield, click on a few characters then freezes and crashes. This is very disappointing because I was doing really well but now I'm going to miss out on some of the prizes! I'm afraid to uninstall and reinstall because I don't want to loose my progress.

I'm currently using Android 4.1.1 (Jellybean) on my HTC One X cellphone.

My TSTO game is always having automatic update and when I enter the game, the message dialog box contains, "Unfortunately, Tapped Out has stopped."

How does it happening? What is the problem to give this issues?

(Daily player, level 45, currently on ToH XXV)

Very annoying... after the latest update the game crashes during start. Samsung S5, Android 4.4.2. I wish they would do QA before publishing updates! The Halloween event goes on for iOS... but stops now for Android.

I can't tap anything in my friends lands including my other Springfield. I don't think it is because they are playing a lot, other Springfield is the one go to place for guaranteed actions.

I've seen reports of additional problems for those who've switched the Android runtime from Dalvik to ART. ART is supposed to bring some improvements, but it's not the standard yet. Many apps haven't been supporting it.

Everyone whos game crashes at the splash screen, it is confirmed that the issue is due to if you run ART or DALVIK. Whatever EA did with the latest update, it now can't run the game if you run ART. Changing back to DALVIK fixes the issue temporarily, but EA need to hurry up and fix this issue. I'm not going back to DALVIK just to play the simpsons, worked fine before the update, and every other app works fine too. Plus, Android 5.0 Lollipop is now coming out in a matter of weeks, and that ONLY uses ART, so EA... sort it out!

I didn't try it before because some people reported being on Dalvik, but going back to it worked for me. Still kinda sucks though, as ART was working just fine before the last update :(
