I'm with the others who DID win this in 2013 but have had it in storage ever since last Halloween because it's so big and useless. To each his own, but I also find it annoying seeing Homer King Kong climbing up the building and falling off every time I scroll past it. It's pretty badly out of scale to other buildings too. I'd love to have another big building to go alongside the fantastic Claus Co., but not this one.
I bet very few people will go for this deal (but who knows). If EA put a price on this more like 80 or 100 donuts, they'd probably end up making a lot more money. 250 donuts is just awful.
Auctioneer: Who'll give me 250 donuts for this lovely building? 250, 250. No? How about 200? 200 I say. No. 150 then. Come on 150 for cool animation. No. (Continues this way.) Sigh. 5 donuts. Ah come on guys, 5 donuts. etc.
I'd buy it if it's payout was in donuts or mystery boxes.
This.. I was lucky enough to get it last year and while an.. interesting.. building, with no payout and no modifier, there is no way I would cough up more than maybe 50..
I have to agree.. I think the "0" is a typo..
If only King Homer was a playable character, or even a Homer skin, it might have been worth it. Instead, it's a bit of repetitive animation attached to the building...a building that doesn't even earn money, I might add. I won it last year, and it went straight into storage.
Even though I already got this building for free last year (so I shouldn't care), the more I think about the price EA put on it, the angrier I get. It's just poor form, IMO, for EA to charge this much for a building that does absolutely nothing but sit there with no character, no $ and no tasks. Yes, blah blah, I know EA can do whatever they like. I just feel really bad for people who either 1) want this building but are stopped by the sticker shock or 2) pay this much for a white elephant building like this. Plus, it's self-defeating for EA because I highly doubt many people will actually pay this much for it, so what is gained on their end?
The price might have something to do with the fact that it was the final community prize. It's also big and leaves a mark in town. 250 donuts is still pretty outrageous, though.
That said, I'm with Jim and Pinpal -- I like it. I think it looks good in an urban area next to the skyscrapers and other tall buildings. Here's mine:
I've always liked the way this building looks next to Clausco in a "downtown district", plus love the animation, overall look, and of course the reference to a great episode.
I have neither the King Homer, nor Clausco, but hoped I could get them if they got re-released.
And here it is. King Homer. But sweet Jeebus!?! 250 Donuts?!?
I'm torn, because I do want it... I just can't bring myself to justify spending THAT much on a building that, while cool/neat to look at, was originally free, has no character/skin attached, doesn't earn money, and doesn't have an earning multiplier.
I'd like to have it because I'm a fan of classic monster movies like King Kong, but I just can't swing this deal. Too expensive for something that doesn't come with a playable character. And I'm too lazy to look it up, but I'm guessing it doesn't add any permanent tasks for any of the existing characters.
I had my KHS out next to Claus Co since last Christmas, but both have recently gone into storage for space needed to place other items. I really hope EA starts to release non rehashed items related to Halloween before the event ends. Besides the prizes and the Rigellian items (portal, license, etc.), everything feels like a yard sale for long time players. While I get EA releasing items people may have missed before, some new Halloween content would be refreshing.

Mine is still in storage. Likely to remain there.

I'm quite disappointed.
250 in-game cash = buy!
25 donuts = maybe
250 donuts = robbery! not a chance!
