I love them too. I did this one in Excel so I could copy the grid if necessary. Also I could use colors to tie the entries to the clues or to my logic about why a value would be what I thought it was.

I haven't used the grid either, I'm used to take a piece of paper and take notes of the clues when I solve these puzzles.
Same here, only I linked the two together, filling in what I knew in a table, and transferring it to fit.

I'd like to see your mystery task. There are many ways to solve these types of puzzles. I would think Venn diagrams would be hard to visualize past 3. Wikipedia does have some interesting info on using Venn diagrams for relationships among more than 3 sets.
