7 hours per week is unacceptable for me, personally
that's a LOT
perhaps you should try a game that's less challenging to you? With someone with your obvious charisma and extensive social life it's unclear why you would want to play a game where those who reach the goals you label 'losers' I guess that makes you a winner by default? How comforting that must make you feel...
- plus another 15min twice per day to sort out the trick or treaters
The "keep trick or treating" task made me able to reassign my kids in about five minutes. Squishing quite a few aliens along the way was easy, because they tended to congregate. I could literally play most of this event during bathroom breaks. If others couldn't, then I'm sorry and I don't know what else to tell them, but I found much of the collecting to be very quick. Even neighbor visits were quick because I didn't have to search for buildings, there were just aliens running around. Opening all the treat bags might have taken some time, but that could be done pretty much at leisure if you didn't have a lot of time during the day.
Also, you are not speaking for everybody. There is a good deal of evidence that not everybody agrees with you, so you can't possibly be speaking for everybody. You are qualified to speak for you just as I am qualified to speak for me, and neither of us is qualified to speak for the vastness that is everybody. So you can stop insisting on that.
I'm glad for those still trying to finish that the event didn't end right on schedule. I hope everyone can reach their prize goals with this extra time.
I saved all my gremaliens from the second phase trying to make sure I could earn the ubo and also worked hard to earn all I strings I could. I still had to use donuts to get him in the end. This was definitely designed for us to fail so we would have to spend donuts.
Edit: didn't notice all the drama. I was merely commenting on the poll.
I was keeping track of my friends during the last few days trying to help those that were close to get the last prize and I have to say, I feel bad for a lot of them.
Out of 96 friends
8 didn't start the event
35 got all phase 1 prizes
26 got all phase 2 prizes
42 got all phase 3 prizes
40 friends started the event and did not recieve ANY of the top 3 prizes from the event. Some are still plugging away and leaving gremlins while others are only a couple of thousand away.
So I get where people were saying that this was a hard event. It was very time consuming, I was on 4 hours shifts almost the entire event and I'm feeling a little burned out. I think others are as well since I've seen it mentioned that people are going to enjoy the break. What I'm getting at is that I'm not sure you can call the event successful when, if my small sample means anything, just over 50% completed it.
I know how my friends did and I'm curious to see if other people's neighbours have similar results.
I did not get any of the final prizes. I am still plugging away for UBO, and hope that I can hold off any take-down update until Friday. Now it seems that my only option for collecting UBO will be protein strands since the ability to finish with donuts seems to have gone away. I am also still trying to amass enough candy (chocolate...why is chocolate such a nemesis in the gaming world...here and candy crush....I love chocolate!!) so that I can craft the DTD, however, I am still just over 200 away
RE: the drama above. I think it is fair to say that some folks here tend to be condescending to those who disagree with them. There are clearly (at least) 2 camps: 1 who to thought that there was plenty of time, and 2 those who thought that there was not enough time. There are good arguments for both, and for me, there clearly was not. What seems to cause a lot of folks grief here is the WAY in which they are responded/referred to. When you call those who disagree "losers," or entitled rotten eggs, you are going to polarize people, and that is not really why we are all here.
I do not understand why folks who disagree, but have absolutely nothing more to add to the discussion, continue to chime in with nothing more than additional gas for the fire...
My god people calm your *. Ill say this once more I did not create this thread so people would * and moan about the event. Ive enjoyed the event the whole way through. I just merely wanted to see if other people were having the same kind of luck as me.
To everyone who was wondering i did manage to get the U.B.O about an hour ago.

Unfortunately sometimes this happens when you create a thread - I'm sorry it went in a direction that you didn't intend for it to go.
I am really glad to hear you got your UBO! Thanks for letting us know

nice analysis
I don't understand why people associate 'challenging' with 'time consuming'...that's rubbish IMO
just because something requires more time does not make it challenging...to make an event more challenging they should think of challenging tasks, rather than larger amounts of mundane tasks
quality not quantity
for example, an event with mr burns casino where the tasks are challenging card games
it's seems so many people on this board would be happy if they had to visit 100 friends a couple times a day, requiring hours...they'd then say "well that was a great challenging event"
I have a question for those who were able to get every item without spending tons of time on TSTO... How many kids did you send out to trick or treat each time? How many premium kids did you send?
I think this may be one reason why some struggled and it was easy for others. My main town had Witch Marge, SVT, Database and Kearney. My second town didn't even get Rod and Todd until the end of the Donut Torture phase. It was much harder for me to get prizes in my Feeder Town. For me, I didn't even try for the UBO once I discovered that I was not able to get the minimum number of protien strings each day needed to get it. I am not complaining, since it was my choice and I am still very happy with all of the goodies that I was able to earn for both towns!

I don't believe the amount of kids you sent was the biggest factor here. I have I believe all the kids (Fremium and premium), and witch marge, and sent them out once or twice a day and earned none of the final prizes. I think what really mattered was how many times you were able to log in and squish rigelians, and number of friend visits.
Over the last few days, I have been able to log on a few extra times throughout the day, and find that my collecting has increased substantially. Had I had the ability to do this all along, I believe I would have been able to get everything.

For me, my feeder town was a lot more work having 6 less trick or treaters in my feeder town. More bags means more protein strings, ray guns etc. If you have the extra 6 or 8 kids sent out twice a day, you don't need to visit as often to squish aliens. I was still signing in every 4 hours and my feeder town barely made the hovercraft...
Here is the deal and this may help identify where things went wrong for those who couldn't make the end of each prize track. 1 alien spawned every 5 minutes (48 total after 4 hours). The cap was 80 (50 visible) at once giving you plenty of margin for getting in the game at most every 4 hours but could get away with every 6 hours and 40 minutes depending on your sleep duration. It took about 5 minutes to squish all them each time. They except for a few stragglers would come to the focal point of your view (a road intersection was good place to sit and squish from). That was at most 272 squished daily. You got 3 probes per squish, 2 guns per squish, and 5 proteins per squish respectively. Each phase you got 90 total probes, guns, proteins daily from squishes visiting friends. That is: phase 1 906 probes, phase 2 634 guns, and phase 3 1,450 proteins daily not counting treat bag, shot down UFOs, or other bonus sources. You needed to get: phase 1 daily 671 probes, phase 2 daily 646 guns, and phase 3 daily 1242 to get the final prize for each track. Phase 2 you needed 37 probes from treat bags etc extra sources to hit the daily. That was more than likely gotten from just 10-15 (3-5 3 times daily) treat bags alone. And all you needed to do was play at least 5 times daily. First time at wake up and final time just before bed (0, 4, 8, 12, 16 hour marks). With plenty of margin at the 4 and 12 hour marks to squish early or late by as much as 2 hours and 40 minutes. You only needed about 5 minutes to squish all the aliens in your town, about 2 minutes to collect treat bags and send on the task again, and about 5 minutes to squish the 90 aliens in friends towns. A total of about 35 minutes daily (7m, 5m, 7m, 5m, 7m respectively and 5m added to one of those for visiting friends).

I'm surprised too. I imargine he uses his personality as contraception.
