People whining

The only time I didn't get all the prizes was the Easter Event (that hotel will always haunt me). Other than that I got everything at every event - even Clash of the Clones and I wasn't even trying.

I agree. There have been a few events where I didn't get all the prizes, but that's just the way things are. In my opinion, I did think the Clash of Clones update was more difficult than other updates in the past, and I didn't get all the prizes. But I also thought that update was boring, and I know I didn't play as often as I normally do. I don't think my husband even got all the prizes, and he progressed further along than I did, and played a lot more than I did.

That being said, I did get all the prizes for this event. However, I did play regularly and really wanted to get the U.B.O. prize, so I played as much as I could. And yes, I could see how general life/school/work could make playing the game more difficult. My husband barely made the last prize in the second batch, only to later find out you could craft the darn thing. But, you got to do what you got to do--whether that is playing the game or taking care of other things in life.

I know some people are upset you can't craft U.B.O., but I think that is what makes getting it more prestigious. People also forget it is THEIR choice to play the game. No one said they HAD to play the game in the first place. And it is a game. Not everyone plays it as well as some others do. It's just like with any type of video game, there is some skill in it whether you think there is or not, and there will always be people who play it better than you. I mean, I remember seeing one person have 16,000+ strands within a few days of those prizes opening up. I don't know how they did it, but they did.

It's just a game people. Games are supposed to be fun! Lighten up and enjoy the prizes you have. :)

You'll always get someone complaining no matter what, sometimes justified and sometimes not. I feel this was a fair and good event. I didn't get a 30 donut UFO but I was very happy to get 20 at the end of the tasks and a few from treat bags. Although I had a ray gun and some premium kids, I found the crafting and personal prizes really easy - so long as you logged in every 4 or so hours, from the start, most freemium players should have been able to attain all the prizes.

The developers did say they like upsetting us, right? It's part of what keeps the game engaging.

I started playing halfway through ****, and got all of those prizes. I got all of the Halloween prizes, too. I logged in a bit obsessively, but I wanted to make sure I got all of what I wanted. Sure, it was a grind, but I like the challenge. I wouldn't have minded buying anything if I hadn't been able to collect/craft enough.

My only issues are with those players who feel they shouldn't have to take part to still get all the prizes. That doesn't make any sense. And I'm not talking spending donuts (I didn't) or going on 5 times a day (I haven't).

You want to win, take part. If you don't, don't expect to win. It's pretty simple.

I do feel for those who played a lot and still didn't earn enough...I imagine it's really frustrating to lose out on something that you were just shy of. I almost didn't get the hovercopter, snagged that one with just hours to spare.

I didn't get donuts from a UFO but I chalk that one up to sheer luck and shrug it off. In the end it was a bonus and not something I felt I worked for...unlike working toward prizes to be earned.

I put this all behind and look forward to the next event!

    Amen!

What fun would a game be if there was no challenge? It wouldn't be fun, it would be b-o-r-i-n-g. And then people would complain that EA needs to do something more challenging in the game. You can't satisfy everyone! People will always complain.

If you only play once a day and are on here complaining- I really have no sympathy, but if you play regularly and don't get what you work hard for- I can see why one might be a little upset and feel a need to complain
PM me- I DO need Good Neighboreenos currently

I agree. In that situation it could come down to what you got in your bags in terms of currency or bullets to get more currency from shooting UFOs. Also, how generous neighbours were in terms of gremaliens.

You didn't get as much from gremaliens that were dropped in your own town from your friends, so I didn't rely on that as a source of strand "income". I don't think very many people visited my town to be honest, at least not until the very end when I was getting bombarded with gremaliens. I actually found people on my friends list who weren't playing at all and would always drop the max amount of gremaliens allowed (I think it was 10) in 4 hour increments. That way I knew I was guaranteed at least 40 strands every four hours from each dead town.

I'm not one to complain, and this is not a complaint, but I did not complete phase 2 or phase 3 and what I'm feeling is confusion. I'm a regular player, on the game several times a day even when there's no event going on. Like many others, I complete events weeks in advance and ride the time out, and if there's any complaining it's that the events are TOO long. I finished phase 1 of THOH with three days to spare, and that seemed perfectly logical given the track record of my game play in accordance with the time allowed for these things. I hoarded bags those last days and still missed the hover copter by 300 ray guns. Phase 3 ended last night, and I fell 500 proteins short of the UBO prize. Granted, I didn't log in every four hours on the dot every day (but I did play constantly), and on a couple of days I was only able to send my kids out twice instead of three times. I only missed visiting neighbors one weekend.

How did I fail? Was there absolutely no leeway as far as timing is concerned? Did I do something wrong over the course of this event that I'm still unaware of? I don't understand how myself and other active players who usually crush these events came up just short in the end. Again, I'm not complaining since it is only a game and my life is not affected by not having a glowing Burns wandering my town, I'm just telling my story.

Oh, I do want to thank the bunch of neighbors who kept throwing eggs my way over the last couple of days in an effort to help me reach my goal. The grind was frustrating, but it was cool to see the TSTO community coming to my aid :D

    Yes this.

I used the gremaliens more to help out my neighbors - if they were dropped in my town I left them alone so that neighbors would get the max four items after four hours. If I dropped them in neighbors towns it was to be squished by them, or left alone for me, whichever was the prerogative of that neighbor.

In the end I didn't rely on them, in fact I intentionally ignored them when in my town, and I still collected enough items to handily get all prizes. So IMO the impact of the gremaliens was negligible.

The only event I've never completed was Easter 2014 and we all know why.

I've also not spent a single penny on this game, only my time.
