I am happy to see neighbors in my town again - whatever they tap! I made a slight tactical error yesterday and visited inbetween the in-game update and the app-store update, so my first real visits will be tonight. (I got FPs when tapping aliens!)
I did make a lot of money (7,000,000+) during Halloween because I tapped everything all the time. Now I will leave some buildings untapped for my neighbors.
Speaking of tactical errors. First thing I did this morning was rampage through my town collecting all rents, as I've gotten into the habit of doing that over the past month. I did a final sweep of my town to be sure I hadn't missed collecting from anything, and there was a lone handshake on the Simpson house ... And I suddenly realized I'd just wiped away any chance for friends to get FP from me ...
I'm going to need to get used to leaving that floating stuff alone. Aarrgghh. Luckily, I have no use at all for ingame cash. Glad I'm not trying to play the mid-stages of this game, where building costs are high and you have 100 neighbors to accommodate by leaving rents uncollected. Egad.
Yup I started that this morning but caught myself. I still need cash, none of the 10,000,000 items at all.
I did this too! I stopped myself when I realized, which was about half way through when I remembered that most of my neighbours had updated from Halloween (I accidently updated this morning - I has intended to leave it until the forced update... I don't pay attention very well when I wake up... Both those things are proof!)
Graffiti away, doesn't bother me at all. I'm not quite 5 stars anyway (4 1/2), so the occasional dip in my rating doesn't bother me. It always goes back up after a day or two. When I finally get five stars, I'll just put up a bunch of training walls.
I always thought that tapping buildings with higher payouts (Burns Manor, Turban Outfitters, Duff Stadium, etc.) vs. A brown house, for example, will earn your neighbor more money. So I always do scroll around to see if those are available . . . Have I been wasting my time? LOL :-o

I like it when my neighbors graffiti me. That way you get FP,etc. from buildings that you usually get nothing from. I don't care about the righteousness rating. Mine goes up and down all the time and doesn't affect much.
This is how I look at it.
Vandalizing buildings is the only way to make those buildings payout. I always feel kinda bad when I don't take the time to look for the graffitiable buildings.
Burns mansion, volcano lair, and the stonecutters lodge are good to tap.
If your bonus percent drops it can only drop, what .5%. Not a huge loss. I'm not sure why this would make people so mad that they would drop someone as a neighbor. Seems fairly petty to me.
I have been playing for a while now and I never realized that it mattered what building you tap. Do some buildings pay out more than others? Can neighbors/friends only tap the buildings (on your town) with $ signs? Also, what difference does it make if you tap on a "tile" in a friends town? I'm not even sure what anyone means by a "tile". Thanks in advance.

The person visiting gets the same amount from all buildings. For the owner it is better to have certain buildings tapped(they take longer to regenerate, it helps speed things along, $ faster). A neighbor cannot tap a building that the owner has already cleared. The tiles are SP tiles. I'm not sure why they're bad to clear.

Sorry for all the questions, but I never knew any of this made a difference. So if someone taps on a building it cuts down on the time it takes to collect the next reward $ for the building?

They're not "bad" to tap, per se, but your neighbor doesn't really get anything when you do. (Not anymore, anyway.) While a tap on a building resets the timer, a tap on a completed item like a tile or a crop or a news broadcast doesn't do anything like that because they don't have timers that automatically reset.

I guess it all depends on if the owner needs $. It would be better for their buildings to be tapped, for the income. I try to leave the "extras" available to give neighbors more options. Y'all can tap anything you want in my town.
I forget sometimes that not everyone needs money. I still have several aspirationals and a strip of land to buy, so I always feel like I need money. (Plus my compulsive desire to level up and get a few donuts, that also takes money.)

I understand.
Don't tell anyone but I use to be a house farmer.
And then the corn glitch hit. Oh, I loved that glitch. Land bought, farm gone.
It was great being able to clear my town during Halloween, I'm trying to remember to leave buildings for my neighbours now! Graffiti used to bug me but someone had pointed out it's FP and $ you wouldn't get otherwise. I'm just happy my neighbours are visiting.

Besides raising Righteousness they also unlock the 12-hour task for Eddie: "train for action"
