Tapping corn doesn't affect anything. But it keeps it from going bad. Once bad only someone tapping can fix it. I hope you tapped it now.

If I didn't read this thread I would have had no idea that tapping corn was not acceptable. It's unreasonable to expect everyone to know this or to get mad at someone for tapping something in a tapping game.

When should anyone grow corn? When I quit this game while ago, before I deleted the game I put some corn. when I got back a month ago I got a nice sum of money.. should you do this even if you are active on the game

I haven't tried growing corn in awhile but will try again right after Thanksgiving and before the Christmas update. What's happened in the past is if you planted a crop it got fast tracked to completion when you downloaded a big event update like Christmas or removing Christmas. The update would also wipe out an already completed crop. It had something to do with having to redraw Cletus' farm to display snow..

I don't know if EA fixed that, but I'll give it a try.

You either have corn or you have happy tapping friends.... don't expect to have your cake and eat it too.

Aren't friend visits mutually beneficial? In my view this means both parties should be courteous.

Lol, this. What a joke of a thread. I will tap anything I want in a friends town. Don't like it? Delete me.

I remember this because we still had stacking back then and I had just completed a corn crop and was looking forward to all the $ and XP I was going to rake in from stacking handshakes. I had my corn for only one day before the event update wiped it out. I tried replanting again during Christmas only to see it get fast forwarded to completion when the update to remove Christmas happened in January. Shortly after that, we lost stacking and there was no incentive to grow corn anymore.

I don't recall if any of the events had a crop growing task other than when the GMO pomato was added to the farm but that didn't occur til March.

Courteous? I tap 3 items on each of my friends regardless of what I am tapping. They want me as a friend then they should expect me to tap what I want. I'm not saying i'll go out of my way to tap corn if I see it, but I will tap anything. This is what I expect in return from my friends too.

If someone gets that upset about friends tapping their corn then they should remove friends prior to the corn finishing, but I guess that would be too much for them which means the whole issue isn't really an issue.

Man all this corn talk is turning into a drama. "The mystery continues. Who exactly tapped the corn? Well the criminal mastermind behind it all comes clean in next weeks episode of CSI: Corn Scene Investigation."

Actually, someone started a thread called "I'm a terrible friend" before this one was put up. Stating that they felt bad because they tapped someone's corn. Not sure if it was the same person, but meh.

Not that I care, I personally think this entire thread is stupid and much over reaction is going on.
On that note people, if you are a friend on either account and don't want me tapping crops, or graffiting your town. Please delete me.

The OP's complaint was that they'd spent 90 days waiting to see the corn icon floating above the farm not someone's handshake.

That was me that started that thread, but this person was not the neighbor I was referring to. It was weird that this thread started up right after mine. Now it seems way blown out of proportion. I did feel slightly bad for accidentally tapping it but meant for it to be more tongue-in-cheek than drama!

Seriously, don't feel bad. At least in my opinion this whole thing is stupid. It's a tapping game. Lol.
