Confused about all this neighbour tapping controversy...

Prev13
For the most part, most people are happy to have neighbors tapping during non-events. There are some picky people who don't want corn tapped when done Cuz they haven't seen it finished - but there's no way for you to know that unless they make a sign in their town or pm people about it - which most don't do- they just complain when the "wrong" thing was tapped after the fact. Going for high $$ buildings and ones the take 24hrs to generate are good. But in reality anything you tap is good and should not cause these stupid controversies.
There's no stacking- since that went away the NEED to have specific things tapped has diminished

I don't care what my neighbors tap, as long as they are visiting. Hopefully, the reverse is true as well.

Some people say that graffiti negatively affects your Righteousness rating, but I'm just not seeing a whole lot of correlation in my game. That rating seems to drop at random times, usually right after an update, but it builds right back up through normal play within a few days at most.

    I agree.
I also get the same righteousness drop/then increase.

And the righteousness issue is very easy to fix - just buy training walls and hide them behind buildings if you don't want so many displayed in your town...if you buy enough of them, righteousness stays at 5 stars no matter what else happens in your town.

I'd much rather have neighbors visit and tap on anything they can find - I think that 99% of players probably agree with this but there will always be a small but vocal minority who have other opinions! I guess my only suggestion for those with specific buildings they don't want tapped would be to put it far enough away from the landing zone in your town that most people will find something else to tap before they get to where those buildings are.
    New neighbors always welcome!

I tap the first three I find. I have not seen any discernible difference in the righteousness rating so far no matter what is tapped. There are some that get upset over tagging to the point that there are forums to post for friends that swear not to tag lol.

I also need friends so add me if you want. I play all the freakin time.

All of my neighbors know my eight simple rules when visiting me:

    • Only tap buildings that end in a vowel that's not an 'E' or an 'I'.

    • Only tap with your left hand (no substitutions).

    • Only visit on days ending with 'Y'.

    • Wipe your feet/wheels before visiting. It's just a matter of common courtesy.

    • Don't look for a place to deposit money in my town. This is a bankless town, so go elsewhere for your financial needs.

    • Don't drink the water when visiting unless you'd like what Barney calls "the green apple splatters".

    • Don't stare at Moe when visiting. He's sensitive about his "not really what you'd call an 'open casket' kind of face".

    • Don't listen to the dialogue in my town too closely, or you'll hear Disco Stu say something like "I like to have sex with my girlfriend during a lightning storm, and pretend we're taking part in the conception of the anti-chrst"....

    Ditto what Barry said...
& remember, especially when tapping this week,
'If it wasn't a bad thing, they would call it Happy Friday' :!:

I tap the first three things I see and move on. I expect people to do the same in my town.

I do probably gravitate more towards the dollar signs though, just because my brains thinks, "Yay, money!" even though I know I'll get the same reward regardless of what I tap. Plus, they're yellow, so they stand out more.

I also like tapping the Channel 6 and KBBL icons, just because I like the pictures, but I won't go looking for them, and it has no benefit besides personal preference.

Wow, there are are still people complaining about graffiti... Guess it doesn't get old... or it is too old or I have been playing this game way tooooooo long :?

By the way just like someone said put practicing walls in your town, if you don't like them hide them behind bigger buildings. If you have enough of them in your town your righteousness rating will never ever go down again, mine as not for many, many months and my town gets graffitied all the time.

A person could go insane trying to figure out the "best" things to tap. It's like asking people what's the "best" snack. You'll get a million different answers. (The correct answer, btw, is "****")

For tapping, my rule of thumb is to follow the "Do to others as you would like them to do to you."

So I only tap on the things I would want tapped in my own town.... ANYTHING.

 I have a feeling the longer you played this game the more your reaction when someone visits your town is: yeah! someone took the time to visit my town and give me friends' point how nice of them

I usually tend tap the first things I see. If I have a choice between different buildings in the landing though, I tend to graffiti before anything else, then go for longer timed buildings. I personally like when people graffiti my town, it lets me make money off buildings I otherwise can't. Plus like others have said, with some training walls you never have to worry about your rating dropping.

    What Barry said!

To the OP: There's no controversy and no proper etiquette. However, people visiting me should know I prefer wine over flowers.
