Doesn't matter to me what my neighbors tap, I'm just happy that they visited. Grafetti doesn't bother me either. It's fun using the little mop to clean it plus I get money and XP from buildings that I normally don't
I don't care what my neighbors tap, as long as they are visiting. Hopefully, the reverse is true as well.
Some people say that graffiti negatively affects your Righteousness rating, but I'm just not seeing a whole lot of correlation in my game. That rating seems to drop at random times, usually right after an update, but it builds right back up through normal play within a few days at most.
And the righteousness issue is very easy to fix - just buy training walls and hide them behind buildings if you don't want so many displayed in your town...if you buy enough of them, righteousness stays at 5 stars no matter what else happens in your town.
I'd much rather have neighbors visit and tap on anything they can find - I think that 99% of players probably agree with this but there will always be a small but vocal minority who have other opinions! I guess my only suggestion for those with specific buildings they don't want tapped would be to put it far enough away from the landing zone in your town that most people will find something else to tap before they get to where those buildings are.
I'm also happy when neighbors tap anything they want in my springfield

This. I have training walls hidden behind just about anything that is big enough to hide them.
my Righteousness has not dropped since their implementation.
I like to graffiti for the obvious reasoning, it makes a building that doesn't pay out, pay out.
I honestly don't mind what my friends tap. My landing zone isn't the greatest for tapping. It looks nice enough but it takes a short time for money to generate on those buildings. I have housing very close by though, both up and down. I find that is always most frequently tapped.
Whatever you want your friends to tap, I suggest you pop near your landing zone
SO long as my friends visit, I don't care I have noticed one of my friends takes to the buildings that are furthest on the outskirts strangely
I usually tap the first three things, but I do have some good/longtime neighboreenos with whom I dual. We tap specific things in each other's towns just for the fun of it.
This debate pops up every so often. Back in the early days, it was considered polite to tap on the longest-generating buildings first. The reason was because everyone was struggling to get cash, and since tapping a building restarted its timer, in theory one would earn a little more in the long run by having the timer reset shortly after it was done.
All of my neighbors know my eight simple rules when visiting me:
Only tap buildings that end in a vowel that's not an 'E' or an 'I'.
Only tap with your left hand (no substitutions).
Only visit on days ending with 'Y'.
Wipe your feet/wheels before visiting. It's just a matter of common courtesy.
Don't look for a place to deposit money in my town. This is a bankless town, so go elsewhere for your financial needs.
Don't drink the water when visiting unless you'd like what Barney calls "the green apple splatters".
Don't stare at Moe when visiting. He's sensitive about his "not really what you'd call an 'open casket' kind of face".
Don't listen to the dialogue in my town too closely, or you'll hear Disco Stu say something like "I like to have sex with my girlfriend during a lightning storm, and pretend we're taking part in the conception of the anti-chrst"....
I've been wiping my feet, but had no idea about the water... Wish you had told us sooner
As someone who is growing Christmas corn (and this is my first crop of corn), I can understand the frustration because I know that I want to have the satisfaction of harvesting it the first time around, with the little corn icon and all - afterall, it takes 90 days. I would be disappointed if I missed that chance.
That being said, it's just a game. I have never understood, and never will, why people get so upset by graffiti. I'm happy that I have awesome neighbours that visit frequently. I really don't feel there are right or wrong things to tap.
When I started shortly before Easter, I never knew that things needed to left for tapping. When I learned it, I stopped tapping everything leaving the short timed buildings (Kwik-E-Mart, Krusty Burgers, Simpson's, Flanders', Van Houton's houses) & built more than one brown house I had so neighbors have things to tap.
I have built extra training walls (hiding behind buildings) to keep my righteousness 5 stars, as well as keep Herman & Nelson in prison, so never have any change in it. I choose not to do graffiti unless there is nothing else to tap (including Krustyland), though don't care if neighbors choose to do in my SF.
I don't understand the issues with what neighbors tap, I'm glad for their visits. Most of the time I tap the 1st 3 things. When I have time for my visiting of 100 neighbors I scan the towns to see their designs & tap the longer buildings (7 days, 2 days, 24hrs, 16hrs, 12hrs) to be a good neighbor, shortening the clock for them.

...I saw the stuff floating in the water, I would drink anything that didn't come from a bottle or can anyway
And do you still require a sacrifice in your honor or have you just settled on the traditional exchange of money for services rendered?
I have a confession to make. I don't know how the ConformoMeter thingie works. I DO know that in Krustyland if I have five stars I get a different shuttle. Anything like that in Springfield?
I know HOW to get the stars ... I just dont know WHY. Does a point in Righteousness add a point to my multiplier? Is that what happens? I've never had five stars, because another percent to my multiplier would only keep giving me more cash and I have lots of multiplier stuff in storage anyway.
But does the conformity rating do anything else?
USA/UK Race To Throw Country Into Utter Chaos = TOO CLOSE TO CALL
I don't get why anyone would not want the graffiti taps since they boost righteousness and give reward for an otherwise not rewarded building. On that note as well why the heck do only training walls, SWAT van give righteousness? Clearing graffiti, catching sideshow bob, and doing all the prison tasks multiple times a day for all of them and you never get more than 1/2 a star. Seems to me there is something wrong with that since those three things are the intended way to get the rating. Sure you can hide those training walls but that is just silly if you ask me; when there are other things they could have for that rating: First Church of Springfield, Springfield Buddhist Temple, and Lincoln's Cabin and possibly other buildings I overlooked; Angel Topiary, Burning Bush, Jebediah Statue, Liberty Bell, Shiva Statue, The Mayflower, and anything christmas or religion related that I didn't list. Decorations has a huge imbalance of vanity with the rest having so little. Building not so much but still righteousness gets the shaft big time. Sorry my post is partly off topic but related to others replies and info I felt relevant to the righteousness part of the topic.

The conform-o-meter merely adds to your multiplier, and it's a half percent for every half star overall. So a five-star town gets five percent added to the multiplier.

I don't think there's much more to it than that, but I found on the Simpsons Wiki an interesting tidbit for people who like to level up for donuts:
If you can get your total bonus up to 650.00%, then you can get 100% conversion of Cash to Experience when buying and reselling most Decorations (most decorations give Experience equal to 10% of the purchase price and the resale on almost all decorations and buildings is 25%, so with a 650 percent bonus the total XP is 75% of the purchase price, and the final cost after resale is 75% too).
I can't imagine I'll ever have a multiplier in that neighborhood, but it would make donuts a little easier to get.
I usually have a quick look around and then just tapped 3buildings. I dont graffiti unless there arent anybuildings to tap. Im just happy to getvisitors and dont care whatthey tap.
I can't imagine myself ever growing corn but if I did I would know the exact day and time it would be finished. I would then take a day off of work and have a count down just like New Years. Then the moment it was done I would pull out the champagne and have a toast to myself. However, I wouldn't drink any because I'd suddenly realize what I had done and rush off to work. I'd then blame the traffic for me being late. Later I'd be annoyed I didn't take a screenshot so I'd start growing corn again.
I have a confession to make. I don't know how the ConformoMeter thingie works. I DO know that in Krustyland if I have five stars I get a different shuttle. Anything like that in Springfield?
That is exactly the same. The only difference between the two is the one in Springfield has more sections to keep up.

Each star adds 1% to your multiplier, but striving for 5 stars is also a badge of honor for players since it's hard to obtain and is one of the three things your neighbors can see about you(the others being your name and what level you have obtained)...
A person could go insane trying to figure out the "best" things to tap. It's like asking people what's the "best" snack. You'll get a million different answers. (The correct answer, btw, is "****")
I beg to differ with "****". For me it's "Choco Pie". (It's a Korean take on Moon Pies, the Southern Moon Pies, not the Maine confection of the same name.)
Edit: typo
Moe: "Moe's tavern, home of the worlds smallest large screen TV."
While on this topic... Was just wondering if tapping certain buildings have a higher probability of finding donuts? Or is it all the same?
It's all the same.
And it's just a matter of what you feel you have better luck with. I prefer houses over businesses in regards to tapping because of the donuts won from houses outnumbers the number won from businesses a factor of about 100 to 1...
Unless i fancy a look around someones town other than that tap the 3 buildings n im out
Even then. First three I see.
I do a little of both. I tap the first three I see, and if the town looks good I'll stay an extra minute to look around and maybe get some inspiration for my town.
