i never got into steaming or stream-matching music programs like spotify.
i still listen to radio or radio show podcasts for most new stuff. i also get new music from bands i see live and discover similar bands from there. also sometimes friends will let me know whats hot.
Oh I thought the question was how do you discover NEW music? Anyway...
I still mainly listen to CDs at home and in the car. I listen to specific radio programs for new music. I listen to ripped music from my CDs on my phone when I'm on the go.
I used to have a ton of vinyl LPs but have only like 2 crates now. I'll buy vinyl if I think the band is really cool though. 8)
team spotify here! i used to flip flop between pandora & slacker radio, but once i discovered spotify there was no contest.
Do you record your streamed music for later? It's the same as recording music from your am/fm radio, just don't share it.
spotify lets you download it
Interesting option  Is it available only for premium people like yourself or do we frugal people have this option as well?
And I just listen to CDs whenever possible, I have bought a few songs from iTunes and got some songs free from Amazon but 99.9% of my songs are ripped from CDs I own or borrowed.

I did a quick search, seems like you can only download with the premium, but it's only $10/month

At that cost you could have a harddrive full of music before the month is over and technically be legal
Until recently, I bought CDs and then ripped them to iTunes so I could play them on my iPod. More often nowadays I buy songs and sometimes entire albums from iTunes instead.
I PAY FOR my music. I have lectured my daughter over and over about STEALING music, but it does no good. Won't do any good here, either, I reckon....
Oh, and sometimes I listen to new things on Spotify before buying them.
