Mine too for the past 2 days, tried on 3 different devices but always crashes during log in. Already asked EA helpdesk but they still could not find any solution yet...
I am having the same issues... I can't get my game to load it allows me to open and tap to continue but then crashes right afterwards. Very frustrated especially since we are on Christmas missions and I don't want to fall behind

I haven't had any issues except that I couldn't access one neighbor. After trying three times, I ended up replacing him. The town had a giant house farm, which may or may not have caused the issue.

Yes, I'm a premium player, so 15 donuts is nothing, and with this events 100 presents can be the difference in getting the prizes.
Until about half an hour ago, I was having trouble. I couldn't even get my game to update for the Christmas event. Finally it did and I'm back in my SF.
I know this is a known issue - but if you have a lot of pending friend requests it can crash your game. I had this issue last Christmas update until I went into Origin and deleted every pending request. Good luck

By the way, with the very same devices I can play without any issue on my daughter's account
Mine crashes constantly. Every 10 seconds. I just got the 6+ so I assume it's a formatting issue or something. But I haven't been able to do much since the Christmas update.

So I deleted and reinstalled the game.... I know I lost progress because the prompt showed up saying that my town wasn't saved... I'm pissed... Then come to find out after reinstalling IT STILL CRASHES!!!!! so I don't know how much I have lost... I'm pissed again.... And this Christmas special is basically over for me because there is probably no way I can catch up now!!!! Oh and I recieved an email back from EA stating that this issue is known and to just post my concern on this forum for the game developers to see!!!! I am even more upset!!!! They basically said there is nothing they can do!!! Does anyone have any suggestions? Oh and sorry for the rant!

Yes, but to me that would be a waste of donuts, ( even if they were free) and if I'm paying for the game it should work, I even worked my schedule in order to win the bonus presents, well, I needed an excuse to leave this game, I think this is finally it.
It is very disappointing that every single update there are major problems
I got a reply from EA on my issue: the only thing they said is "it's a known issue and we're working on that"
....
Beside the invitation to post my problem on the forum (already done, even before contacting EA) the only other suggestions were the classical stuff (close the app, re-start the device, re-install the app, etc), which I obvioysly already did unsuccesfully.
And then the funny part: "if there is anything else that we may assist you with, please let us know" @##*%#%
EA mail was finally saying "we have closed this case for now"
