If you finish a quest per day you get 100 presents as a reward

Quests, holiday trees (at least one given free every xmas event, so amount may vary depending on how long you've been playing and whether additional trees were ever purchased) elf homes (also depends) and the gift depot all pay out presents. I'm also fairly sure I get more than 20 per day from feds.

If you have rod and Todd, keep Flanders on the snowmobile task. 12 gifts every ten hours is better than 2 gifts every 4 hours. :)

You get two presents per action for the first 10 neighbors so make it 150 instead of 120.

Also you should be able to collect Bart and the Flanderses twice per day as it's a 10 hour task. 9 am and 9 pm based on the collection schedule shown. This gives you another 22 presents.

The thing about this event is that it is not linear. You are not supposed to the he same amount of presents every day. At the beginning you get less and later you get more and that way it evens out. Don't think to much about getting 670 presents every day.

The 100 present reward you get after every quest is a major source of presents. Since it is given for every quest, it really adds up. Do a main quest line quest? Get 100 presents. Win a prize for getting presents? Get a minor quest worth 100 presents. Got 6 tunnels done? 100 more presents. They aren't controllable or terribly predictable, but I've been getting at least one a day and sometimes 3-4. It's kept me ahead of the 700/day pace despite my other math looking pretty similar to the OP's. In a week or so (or sooner) I will likely be nearly out of quests, but I should have 20 or so elves by then to pick up the slack. In the early part of Phase 1, I have been rewarded a lot more by working on the quest lines and accumulating elves than sending characters to grind out presents. Homer, Ned, and Lisa have barely done their present tasks as I try to advance the various quest lines. So far, this approach is working OK for me; I'm averaging 860 per day.

I'm about 2 days ahead of the curve atm

I think your math maybe just has some holes? Get more neighbours who can drop feds maybe?

A couple of days ago I was a couple of day behind.

Since I was able to drop feds and also clear a couple of tunnels by careful planning I am about 1.1/2 days ahead of the chart.

There seems to be a lot of little bonuses of 100 presents handed out as we go.

    Kinda cool, this non-linear approach..

For me, to my surprise, this turns out to be a tight race. I am a bit ahead of my daily amount, but I am somehow not managing to get that convenient space between my actual presents and the daily target.

I am actually only about 400 or so ahead. I hope this increases as we go.
