what to do with so many elves?

Have you been upgrading your cannon ?

Once you have the cannon control building as the cannon upgrades, more and more elves will be used each time.

You may still have a surplus for a while, it doesn't really matter.

Same here I always have about 200 extra. Maybe they are needed at higher cannon-levels?

It doesn't actually increase that much.

Good for you. Have not had an issue till last night & this morning. I had to wait to have enough to fire the cannon. Since the start I have always had more then enough. Last night had to wait an extra hour till enough were bottled.

I'm also at cannon level 7 (no donuts used) and have a surplus of 150ish elves

I'm finding that I'm close to not having enough elves to fire. My cannon is at Level 8 - my thought was this is EA's way of making sure people don't finish too early by limiting how many elves you can bottle.

I'm getting enough cogs to level mine up once per day yet I now have well over 200 extra bottled elves. Unless we can shoot a crazy ton more per time in a short time from now or there is another used for them I'll end up with, at this rate, over 1,000 extra bottled elves. I'm shooting them as soon as the wait time is up.

You must be benefitting from some kind of glitch. I'm only getting 6 elves per hour and never have enough to shoot when the cool time is finished.

It is my understanding we are supposed to get 1 every 5 minutes so that would be 30 per hour. The max you can have appears to be pretty high too. Even after 4 hours I'm not warned I'm full of elves. I only get that message after getting up from a nights sleep. If an elf has cogs it's 4 cogs as far as I can tell. So far since phase 2 began I have an average of 115 cogs per day.

I'm only getting 6 elves every hour at most. Very poor planning by EA to only give out half the amount needed to shoot the cannon.

6 x 24 = 1,458. Cannon shot ever 3 hours minus sleep = 5 or 6 times per day. 6 x 30 = 180. So we should have in excess over 1,000 per day. Assuming no waste from downtime and no delay in firing. I don't have this many in excess so I'm not sure how many we are really getting per hour. I'm basing this math off posts that say we get 6 per hour. I do know for sure that I am getting more elves than I can possibly fire with a 3 hour wait time between 3 sets of shots.
