I never have ENOUGH elves. I always have to wait to shoot mine. Granted I used donuts and got my cannon up to level 20 already but it shoots 13 elves and cools down at 2 1/2 hours, but I am only getting around 30 elves every 4 hours or so.

Doesn't a level 20 cannon require something like 12,000 donuts? Even with Gil sale boatloads that's at least $400.
I find it simple, yet delicious to saut? them in a butter/garlic/wine reduction, with just a tad of fresh cracked black pepper over them. Some lemon zest and a nice sprig of fresh rosemary in the mix adds a a great bit of brightness to the dish as well.
Serve over your favorite pasta with extra virgin olive oil, or just on their own, as a festive finger-food appitizer.
Don't forget to save their hats to use to make a rich and decadent broth!

It was a LOT. My family normally gets me around $200-$300 worth of iTunes cards per year. I use them on this game. I have around 20,000 unused donuts. Not trying to brag, but my family is pretty well off and this is the only mobile game I play. I am a HUGE gamer and have been since around 1983. Yes, I was playing Atari years before most people here were born. LOL

Please adopt me.
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
6 x 24 = 1,458. Cannon shot ever 3 hours minus sleep = 5 or 6 times per day. 6 x 30 = 180. So we should have in excess over 1,000 per day. Assuming no waste from downtime and no delay in firing. I don't have this many in excess so I'm not sure how many we are really getting per hour. I'm basing this math off posts that say we get 6 per hour. I do know for sure that I am getting more elves than I can possibly fire with a 3 hour wait time between 3 sets of shots.
I knew something was off when posting, too tired plus who knows what happened with the calculator = bad math. This should be 6 x 24 = 144. If 6 per hour is correct I'm not sure how I'm getting excess with shooting every time it is ready.

Don't forget you also have 3 shots between cooldowns, so your other calc is wrong too. 6 X 3 X 30 = 540, not 180. So, we only get 144 elf per day, with a possibility of shooting 540. So yeah, I think you have something weird working in your favour. Either that, or those of us getting only 6 have a bad glitch.

*shakes head thinking about how all that money could have been better spent other than slightly changing how a few pixels look in a silly game app.

Don't criticise the premium players for spending. Their money supports the rest of us freemium and quasi-freemium (Gil special and the odd Golden Scratch-R) players.

It's not about premium players. This person spent 300-400 dollars changing the appearance of ONE item. Not 'getting' the item, just changing how it looks. That goes beyond all sense.

No different than people that spend $500-$800 a month on an apartment that they will never own.
I am married, have 3 kids (18, 16, and 7), have a 4,200 sq.ft. house that is paid for (in cash), a few vehicles, a vacation home in Pigeon Forge, and I am retired. My wife works as an RN and is headed back to school for fulfill her dream of being a nurse practitioner. By the way I am 36 years old, and the wife is 32 years old. We have over 7 digits in our savings account which nets us over $2,000 a month in interest and all we have monthly is around $1,700 in bills. The wife makes right at $1,500 every 2 weeks as a nurse. Both my daughters work and have their college funds ready ($80,000 each out away) and my son does as well.
Now taken that into account neither one of, my wife or I, drink, smoke, party, etc. I either stay at home, play golf/basketball when I can and generally stick to myself. I collect Star Wars, and help build/restore cars. She works 3 days a week and when she's off, we run errands for my parents or stay at home.
Our situation is certainly unique, and I understand that.
What does go beyond all sense is someone judging how others spend their money without knowing the circumstances.

Well, hooray for you.
How does this relate to elves, exactly?

Actually the 2nd part was correct because you get to shoot 10 per shot prior to upgrades. so 6 x 3 x 10 = 6 x 30 = 180 was correct. However I have ran some more math and figured out how I have extras. I have lost some time throughout the event so far which puts me at 4 time per day average so far instead of 6. I suspect this will catch up to me soon and I'll be in the same boat. To toss in some more math here 144 is ideal for 12 per shot, 3 shot sets, and 4 sets per day.
My elves are slowly decreasing. I used to always have 200ish before firing some.
Now I'm cannon level 9, which means every 3 hours I shoot 33 elves out. I'm slowly dropping in the amount of elves I have, I now have about 115-20. I hope I can collect more and not get below 100 at any point.

Sorry - posted this under the wrong topic.

I don't think there's something as to many elves... they're just a means to collect bells which actually bring in the prizes.

1 elf every 5 minutes would equal 12 an hour, not 30...
