That also means we'll all be lucky to reach Level 16!!
So if you wanted to make it to Level 20:
Level 17 = 1,360 donuts
Level 18 = 1,520 donuts
Level 19 = 1,700 donuts
Level 20 = 1,880 donuts TOTAL = 6,460 donuts
(or US$269.14 worth for those buying in Boatloads)
Wow, who in their right mind would spend so many donuts to upgrade the canon?
Imagine the cost say upgrading from level 7 to 20 with donuts, the mind boggles.

Cannon is level 6, shot 542 elves so far. I have 127 elves in jars in reserve. I know I've missed some cannon shots due to Xmas season, sleep, and I know I will miss more due to work. Haven't used donuts to rush anything. So wondering, people without elves: did you use donuts, and how many elves have you shot?
I don't use donuts to rush anything. My cannon is at level 8, shooting 33 elves between cooldowns. I have shot 817 elves and have only one elf in reserve. (Actually I have waited for about half an hour before I got the last three elves to fire). So now I have run out of elves.
I haven't tried to do the math, but I assumed it would be possible if you chose to rarely miss firing your cannon. I just have happened to wake up in the middle of night these past few days, so I usually get an extra firing in (or perhaps subconsciously my brain has told me to wake up knowing that the event is going on, in which case this game has too much of a hold on me...)
My cannon is at Level 8, with 7 more cogs for the next upgrade. I've shot 838 elves, have 5 bottled elves. Haven't used any donuts.
Edit: Actually, now that I've given some thought to the math of it (based on forum members' comments of a 6 elves/hour spawn rate and a 30% change of cogs from elves), I can't imagine how people can get to Level 20 without spending some of that premium currency unless EA makes some changes.
I saw that one of my neighbors has 2 elf cannons. I can't see it available to purchase after you buy one. Forums haven't been helpful for this question either. Does anyone know how to get a second cannon?

That person either has a hacked game, or got the second cannon via the "Two Device Glitch" or 2DG. The 2DG occurs when you receive a prize on one device and close the game on that device. Then you open up your game on another device and get the same prize again. It occurs completely randomly and doesn't work every time, in fact it's rather rare. It also doesn't matter what device you go between, i.e. iDevice to iDevice or iDevice to Android

Are people actually getting 12-15 elves per hour???? I'm thinking I need to contact support or something. I've tested mine several times now and am getting only 6 measly elves an hour.
Yep. upgrading the cannon is not much use except for the bells per elf. Being able to shoot 33 elves every three hours is not much use when you get only 6 every hour (plus 4 every 8 from the tunnel).
Unless there is a way to get more elves?
And indeed it does mean you can't get enough cogs.
I think EA's math is a bit off.
I really doubt I'll make it to lvl 20 but not that it really matters. I would never have enough elves to shoot every two hrs anyways. My daily high stockpile of over 200 elves a couple of days ago has dwindled to a high of 70 today. I doubt I'll have any stockpile by tomorrow.
Personally I like the look of the silver cannon the best so I won't be too bummed if that's where I end up at the end of the event. I do hope however that after the event the cannon will fire when we tap it. I like the animation and how it shakes the screen.

It wouldn't be from the two device glitch since this was not a prize, it was a building we had to buy for in game cash and place.

I preferred the first cannon, but it really doesn't matter in the end. I am on level 10 and will continue to build until the end. By my calculations, I agree with the OP it doesn't seem possible to reach the last cannon without using donuts.

Also I have found even if I am rewarded two of something based on the glitch. Unless it is something you can have multiple of, I am not able to place more than one in my town.
I'm guessing that the event will be extended for the benefit of players who have experienced issues. I was hoping that somewhere along the line there is something that increases the number of elves per hour? Maybe not.
As far as "bragging rights" levels go, I'm not going to worry too much as my Wizard Marge is still back at Level 1. The same could happen with the Elf Cannon.
yea my mage marge is at level one, even thugh iut aws higher a glitch put her into inv and then was back at level one, althugh i diddent notice mutch of a diffrence from levels anway, and i doubt neghbors acualy ever check your levels on those,. unless of coursr boast about it and tell them to look.

Hmm...
Hey, the Ray Gun fires when I tap it. It can shoot confetti for all I care. I just don't want it to do nothing after the event.

if You play every 4h this is easy...for this game only need constantly playing...
This is the prefect example of someone posting without reading.
