Is Cannon (Level 20) actually possible?

Out of over 100 neighbours only one of mine has that gold cannon, they've had it a while and I have no idea how they got it unless they paid a lot of donuts to upgrade.

I am sitting here waiting for my next set of elves to spawn... so I can collect the 5 cogs I need for my next upgrade to Level 14.

That being said, I've averaged about 193 cogs per day (over 13 days), so it looks like I'll end up with a Level 15 cannon, unless the game miraculously gets some sort of update for the cogs drop rate.

maybe upgrade the cannon should be as upgrading the characters in the ****?

that it takes a total of 530 cogs for the level of 15

Well, I finally got my island and as for the cannon? Meh! I've had the warnings over the Christmas event not to go above 4500 items so it looks like the cannon will be in the inventory fairly soon. I have NO chance of getting level 20 if my elf spawn rate continues as it is now. I have (many server disconnections aside) played this game regularly. My level of elves must be good as I have topped the leaderboard a few times for firing them (ie my spawn rate is as it should be.) That said, I've seen nowhere near enough cogs. It's taken ages to go from level 10 to 13. I see no point in upgrading unless we suddenly get more elves to fire. I fire three times when I get up with a full load of elves. Rest of the time it's just 6 or 7 per fire. Being allowed to fire 13, 14 or 100 elves makes no difference if you haven't got 39, 42 or 300 elves to make the most of it.

I'm half-way to level 17, and I'd class myself as a very active player (maybe only missed 5-6 cycles of elves / bells from doing it perfectly since release)

So yes, I'd say it's near impossible without the purchase of donuts

I'd be interested to know the rate of cogs to elves people are getting. I have fired 2288 elves. I have just achieved level 13 with 43 cogs towards my next level, a total of 2098 cogs. My cog rate is an average of 0.91 per elf. If we all have different cog rates that might give another explanation than spending donuts.

If EA lower the price of cogs, I don't mind buy up the levels. But 2 donuts per cog is way overkill to reach lvl 20.

I think the cog drop rate percentage would probably be better than just taking an average per elf?

I've collected 2,574 cogs (Level 14 cannon + 59 cogs), and 2,265 elves (fired 1,855 elves and have 410 bottled elves to fire). So, with 4 cogs collected each time an elf drops, it is about 28% (2,574 divided by 4 over 2,265 elves collected). If you want to look at a straight average, mine would be 1.14 cog per elf.

I am just shy of a level 14 cannon myself. Fired 2099 elves plus another 38 waiting so 2137 in total. Earned a grand total of 2512 cogs so I have a level 13 cannon. Which means of course that I am literally just shy of a level 14 cannon at 457 cogs so yes I know that I am 3 cogs short of an upgrade. Only got 1 cog drop in the last 16 elves I tapped. At any rate my drop rate seems to be about 4 cogs per 5 elves or roughly .85 cogs per elf. So little more than 1 drop per 5 elves tapped. I might hit a level 16 cannon by the end of this. Not sure about a level 17+ cannon being realistic without spending a ton of donuts on it.

I spent 900 donuts just to get to level 14! I have over 300 bottled elves left but cant fire them as have to keep waiting for cannon to cool down. Level 20 is going to be impossible without spending at least the max amount of donuts you can buy.

I have 3244 cogs (level 15 + 189) and 2722 elves (fired 2707 and have 15 bottled). My percentage of drops is also 29.8% with an average of 1.19 cog per elf. Still not close enough to get to level 20.

My cannon is level 14 but I can't imagine how I'd be able to reach 20 in the next few days. I don't know any of the math, but I've earned all the elf bell prizes and I'm wondering if it's worth it to keep trying for the cannon. I hate to not finish the quest, but I've never bought donuts and the free ones I get I always spend on stupid stuff like speeding up tasks (I know I shouldn't but I just can't save up forever). I wish there was a way to earn cogs in friends towns too :/

To be honest, I'm just continuing to play the event for something to do. I'm at level 14 with my cannon. If I reach the next level, fine....if I get enough extra bells for donuts that's a bonus. But I'm just burning time until the event ends.

I'm level 15 with zero donuts spent. I do not foresee a level 20 for me, which after multiple sessions with my therapist and 2 hostage negotiators, I've come to terms with.

I should be at level 15 either tomorrow or next with no donuts spent. There's not enough elves to generate to level 20. It's almost impossible.

I am at cannon level 14. I have been sick all week or I probably would have made it to level 15. I do think its impossible to get to level 20 without spending a boatload of donuts. I'm not worried about it.

I just got to level 14 on the cannon tonight. Level 15 takes over 500 cogs and I have about 90 right now so I think I've gone as far as I can on this. I should have the final bell prize tonight, or tomorrow morning at the latest, so I'm satisfied. It would have been nice getting to the level 20 cannon, but, oh well. (shrugs)

Whats the point :!: When they keep decreasing the frequency of shots and increasing the number of elves you can fire, but don't actually send any extra elves to your town, the whole things a sham. :?
