I don't think old items should be re-released for new players. It's a bummer that we missed out on some items, I'm a day one player that had my game get erased I lost SFF the Mapple store and the worst of all Barney and the Bowelerama that was given out the first xmas event in TSTO history. I was irate but these things were released for a short period and it lets you know who the senior players are. If we all got everything we wanted in life what fun would that be.

Senior players? To be honest, I don't judge a player based on how long they've been playing. To me, a player who has been playing longer isn't always a better player/neighbor/person/forum member/athlete/cook.

For those of you who think you sit above the rest, enjoy the air up there

Let me get this straight- people are willing to pay money to get items that YOU got for free, people that you don't know and you aren't neighbors with, and items that now come with PREMIUM output in XP and money- all because you want to be "exclusive"?

This makes so sense. It's their money, if they want to waste it on old items then let them. How does it affect you? Are they "stealing" from you? Are they "taking away from the game" when it in no way impacts what you are doing in your town?

I just don't follow that logic  People want to pay let them pay, you already have it so why does it bother you? And if it does that's your own problem.

*breaths deep* :P I don't base anything off of how long someone's been playing or by what items they have, but I also don't get jealous or think that I deserve those items that I missed due to inactivity or before I was playing.

And the great Elitist vs Entitleist comes around once again. Both sides have valid points and neither opinion is right or wrong. I do enjoy these threads though

I honestly don't understand why anyone would have a problem with newer players having an option to pay donuts to get items missed because they didn't play the game from the beginning/started playing at a later point than the item was originally released. Why deny these items to people who would like them, and add to the enjoyment of their game play? I realize that some may feel that they should have exclusive things because they played from day 1, but really - it's just a game. And as a game it would be nice if all players had the chance to receive items that they may have missed out on. I don't see EA re-releasing items periodically as a problem.

If people really feel it's so important to have a way to show how long they've been playing how about an item or character that is only made available once a player has been playing for a year or two years etc? Or a little sign with how long someone's been playing written on it in neon :D

I've been playing for quite some time, I'll be honest and say not from the very start of the game, at a guess somewhere around 9 months into it, when I first started playing I wasn't sure how much I'd like playing and didn't buy any of the premium items as I had next to no donuts, I was freemium player back then, but as time went by i enjoyed the game more and more and decided to support the development of the game by buying some donuts to get some premium items that I liked, I have since bought several lots of pink lovely circles and invested in several more premium things, I've also bought some of the stuff that I missed when I played as a freemium player and I personally thank EA for the opportunity to purchase them.

As someone who has been playing since before Halloween 2012, I totally understand the desire for exclusive older items - it's nice to be able to visually show that you've been committed to the game a long time. Reading earlier incarnations of this debate, though, I came to see that it leads to a bit of a hoarding mentality. It really doesn't lessen my game for newer players to get a chance at older stuff, and people spending donuts keeps the game going for everyone.

    Two thoughts:

When an exclusive item is brought back as a premium, that should give those of us who got it free the premium bonus (as someone said, the change to the cool brown house was NOT cool - I don't mind newer players having it, but I REALLY hate that I now make way less than I used to...)

I wholeheartedly support the idea of some sort of decoration acknowledging each anniversary. That would give long time players that sense of accomplishment, but would be eventually available to anyone willing to put in the time...

QUESTION: For those of you who had the Cool Brown House since its original release, do you really need the extra money after playing for all of these years?

At this point, I don't bother reading arguments about why newer players shouldn't get old items. It's always a variation on the pride-of-purchase argument, and I have a hard time understanding why any of us would feel pride in these particular purchases.

I love it when old stuff I have gets re-released for two reasons:

    1) I now (usually) get a premium payout, and

    2) I get to see what designs newer neighbors come up with.

Those reasons are selfish, but if I was more generous-minded, I might actually be happy that neighbors I like were able to purchase something they wanted.

I don't mind if limited time items come back for purchase, but I don't feel entitled to the things I missed out on or chose to not buy. "Limited time" items does not mean one should expect something to come back later.

Why wouldn't EA bring the mapple store or the falls back as they would make a killing $$$. Maybe postponed for next years books...What I do have an issue with still is not getting Sherry Bobbins from the worst event ever and the Wheel of Sadness.

An anniversary prize (great idea) every year would be great, retroactive.

Fair point, but still not sure why it was necessary. I would have preferred that it stayed as the better building it used to be, both for we old timers and for proud new owners.

In the final analysis, though, not a big deal. Just some pixels on a screen!

I like it when old things come back because from a purely selfish point of view if they come back for premium the item I got for free with probably pay premium.
I have Springfield Falls but I can't remember when/why I got it, if it was for an event or an episode tie-in I have no idea.

As a day one tapper I have these items so this does not entice me.
    Happy tapping!

When I started playing I didn't want my Springfield to look circa 2012 like some of my neighbours. I wish they would release all new items for every event instead of wheeling old stuff out. Who wants it? I want NEW! Apart from a BIGGER version of Springfield Falls. That would be cool.
