I don't like it. I find it hard to use.

Exactly, what use is it when the elfs are gone. It's not a prize at all

I can get it to work. But as a prize, it's useless.

But there are a lot of prizes that suck in my opinion. Any prize that turns out to be a NPC is a complete waste of time and effort. I started playing this game in September 2012, and when these events first started, if you got a character as a prize, it was a character you could play and earn money with, now the majority are these stupid, irritating NPCs that just wander around and add to the glitchiness of an already unstable game. Same with a lot of the buildings. It would be nice if characters could go to a building, any building, all the time, not just for the brief "task" once a building is placed. What's the point, for example, to have the Irish Pub, when the only bar that any of the characters go into (except for *. Patrick's Day) is Moe's? And buildings that don't generate money and just take up valuable space are a complete waste.

What! 7 to 1? It's useful enough!

I've been using it to mop up elves hiding behind buildings. With elves being so scarce it's pretty helpful. Need every lasting before firing the cannon.

It seems useful cuz my town tends to hide elves behind buildings. It is hard to use at times & seems to glitch & get stuck on certain buildings when swiping through the town. Shouldn't have been a prize, just a tool offered at the beginning of the event you could choose to use or not to use

    Agreed

So your point of this poll/thread is to argue with anyone who finds the zapper of some use?

This thread should be titled, "I don't like the zapper, and everyone else can shove off."

Add an option called "I like it but I don't use it regularly" and then I'll vote

I think its interface is a bit clunky (I have a sensitive touchscreen, so it can be tricky to activate it at times -- you should have been able to activate it via the on-screen button as well), and I don't think it should have been a prize, but I find it fairly useful. Once it's active, it's relatively quick to sweep it around the elf hotspots and a few places in between to mop up 95% of the elves.

Or if I don't want to concentrate (eg. doing something else as well), I can just sweep it slowly across the whole town to get all of them, without having to see them.

It is completely useless in my main town, since it is so big and the elves are spread out so much, I might as well just tap them. I do however use it in my B town, since it is small so the elves are all clumped together.

Including both phases, there's sixteen prizes in all. Not all of them can be new characters with tasks or buildings with payouts, I think they did a pretty good job with the prizes this event.

I use it to scoure my town after a good night sleep. Works a bit quicker than tapping individually. However it is near useless when tracking down that last elf hiding behind a building. My town is too large for that. I simply go to edit mode, hide all buildings and decos, and search for the elf, then tap it.
    But not entirely useless.

I've had more useless prizes before.

As a tool for this event it isn't as good as the Bunny Zapper was - which is baffling as I think it is the same thing with different animation graphics. I don't use it, but don't mind it.

I press and hold the screen it doesn't activate :?
when I do get it going, you can hover over the head of an elf and it won't touch them
After this event ends, what will you be left with :?: nothing

You know, I voted useless but then I remembered the single solitary candy cane tunnel prize from phase one (and the useless holiday skins for buildings I don't own). I don't mind NPCs but I wish phase one prizes were "you choose which option you want" instead of this Old player new player divide.

At the beginning I hated it, thought it was useless but after I learned to use it I realized it does have one thing going for it and that's when I enter my board after being away a while and have lots of elves flying around I activate it, move my finger around the screen without deactivating it and I catch tons of elves with it. As long as your finger doesn't leave the screen after activating it, it will continue to work, so I go all over my board with it. Much easier then looking for them. I do agree tho it was a silly prize, after the event it's just gonna disappear.

are you looking for a new perspective, or just trumpeting your own?

    here's two options for you:

    1. yes it's useless. so is every "prize" as they are virtual, not real. just pixels you can't take with you, have no resale value, can't even be traded or sold for cash.

    2. no, it's useful. it's use is to WASTE YOUR TIME, as this is a video game where your only action is to touch the screen with a single fingertip. not exactly challenging. do you feel the feature wasted your time? then it did its job.

remember, this is a VIDEO GAME. not a tool. so "useless" is pretty much inherent, much like this thread.

    keep calm and tap on!
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

    I wouldn't worry about it

like the ghost vaccum and other variations, it will be returned to the EA attic when the event is over. Maybe it will come back as a giant kissy mouth in the Valentine event to collect that event currency. If not it will return on it name is not MacArthur
